And the mice were apparently in the Chariot? Or did they just meet them there. I don’t see any evidence of them in the chariot on Saturday. Agnes appears shocked in panel 2 (or scared?) Violet is climbing up? Or out? And Natasha appears overjoyed. . . . to see Violet or to see battle? So many things happening in 3 small panels!
Watch out, Agnes, watch out! You’re too close to the action. She’s such a brave little mouse, putting herself in harm’s way to tell the story! [Thinks of all the bad things that could happen to a tiny mouse, with an even tinier microphone… begins to hyperventilate… goes to find a paper bag to breathe in…]
Not sure how many moles can fit in the vacuum, but she probably only needs to capture Montague, if he isn’t there to lead them the other moles will probably stop attacking. If they can capture him and convince him somehow that Wicket is using him maybe they can settle this thing.
I have an account on Bluesky now and will report back here with posts from our favorite snapping turtle. From August 26:
While I remain NOT A FAN of CN News, their intern Beatrix reached out with a Bluesky invite this evening and I am heartily grateful. There is a kitten who respects her elders and TRUE NEWS SOURCES, like my previously discontinued cryptid podcast.
Thank you. The truth snaps back!!
Pls do not steal my absolutely official legal signature in my Bluesky cover photo. Thank you.
I just noticed that the chariot has purple wheels with little indurations on them (you know, for traction). Someone way back when the purple thing first showed up in the attic mentioned that it was a wheel. I thought it was way too small. But now I see purple wheels on this chariot and see that they appear to, indeed, be wheels! And Beatrix was wearing one on her head. So, whoever said that way back when appears to have been correct. And Beatrix is probably wearing it as a protective helmet!
OT: Had to let my 18 yo dog, Little Girl, go today. Don’t know if she had a brain tumor or injured her brain when she fell down the back stairs, but I couldn’t let her go on like she was—hardly walking, and when she did, going in circles until she’d fall over. She started crying and howling at night and my other dog, Bunny, would go to her and clean her face. That seemed to quiet her. I’m upset and feeling guilty as I didn’t cry for the first time; I always have for my pets when it’s end of life, but not today. I loved her, had her since she was a lost or abandoned pup chasing cars on a parking lot. Caught her and tried for weeks to find her owners without luck. My dog at that time adopted her and they were together for 15 years—Lil Girl kept the dog younger than her years. I wish I could cry, feels like it’s all bottled up that even my jaw hurts. 2023 has been an awful year—3 pet deaths (old age), one family member suffered a very bad stroke and now in a nursing home, storm brought down 2 neighbor’s trees into my yard, and I’ve had 2 operations—one selective and one emergency (aortic aneurism). Still recovering from that one. Each year I say ‘Maybe next year will be better’ but it never is. Not going to say that this holiday season.

Seventy-three moles lined up
Based on Puck’s report today
Rolled out of the bin, and here’s what they had to say
“Monty’s wantin’ everyone to make holes by the score
We can dig out that way and finally win the war"
But no one heard them callin’
No one came at all
‘Cause they were too busy watchin’ from that old stone wall
As the moles carried out Monty’s strategy
Thimblefist and Homestyle were riding into history
Ride, Queen Mag, ride upon your mystery ship
Be amazed at the friends you have there on your trip
Ride, spice mice, ride upon her mystery ship
On your way to save a world that raccoons sorely missed

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Courtiers, I am pleased to announce a visit from Baba-Stet and Wicket from the Owl Temple.
Puckmosis: Friends, it is indeed an honor to see you.
Wicket: The honor is ours. I understand a descendant of mine is causing a bit of trouble in his timeline.
Puck: That is correct. He intends to take over a field, but we aren’t sure of his reasons.
Baba-Stet: And is my descendant also part of this?
Violet: She is taking care of Queen Mag’s grand kits. Beatrix is with her.
Baba-Stet: If Beatrix is anything like her ancestor, what could possibly go wrong? (Shall I start a list?)
Puck: Well at least Ora Z hasn’t gotten involved yet.
Baba-Stet: Yet being the operative word.

Bruce Springsteen: Born to Run
For days we have been running and hiding as we come up with a plan
Now with the help of all my Wild friends we will flourish once again!
Together we’ll defeat the moles and owl in my chariot that my father rode!
Oh, we’ll clean house with the vacuum and give the moles what for!
Cause raccoons like us, really we were born to rule!
…….
Wicket, I know you were behind all this
I don’t know your ultimate plan
But you reckoned without my friends and me
And we’ll do whatever we can!
There’s plenty of field for everyone
But you want to take it all!
You’d better watch
You are headed to a great big fall!
…….
Beyond the dumpster friends all gather and plan on fighting hard
Mona and her resistance friends are all there standing guard
Monty carries out his plan for reasons known to none
But we’re gonna fight and win!
…….
One, Two, Three!
…….
The moles are headed back to the dumpster
But they’ve gotta reckon with the Queen!
There’s gonna be a battle royal!
The greatest this field’s ever seen!
Wicket, you’re gonna rue the day
You tried to take over
Mags has something to say
To each and everyone
But the end’s not in doubt,
Wicket, you had better run!
