Crickets and Peep Toads? Possibly the best soundtrack for a relaxing evening ever. But I will swap the iced tea for a glass of blackcurrant juice, or perhaps a nice cider. And i’m loving the lil umbrella in Sophie’s drink!

Love Burt’s tea in a Mason Jar and Sophie’s girlie-parasol drink. Is that an orange slice or a lemon on top of Lupin’s? Is anyone (Trevor or Puck?) drinking green tea?

It looks like Trevor and Burt’s windows are half open.

I live full time in a fifth wheel in an RV resort near Phoenix, AZ. There are two times in the year when the outside temperature gets to around 25 deg C (77 deg F) so I open the small window next to the bed and put a small fan in it. The crickets are motorcycle racebois and the peep toads are trucks on the nearby highway but the air is so nice and cool after a day where the temperature reached a hundred and eleventeen degrees out. As summer starts getting hot enough to set the sidewalks on fire, I’ll have to close the window, but the cool nights in May and September are delicious! (No, I can’t leave the window open overnight in the winter because it can snow here and lows reach around 0 to 5 deg C (32 to 41 deg F).)

No crickets, but our local version of the peep toads started on January 29 this year and they are still going strong.

Best thing about where I live in Toronto is the night-blooming jasmine (and whatever else) perfumes the air at night and in the early morning during the late spring and summer. I wish I could bottle that sweet, complex scent.♥

Iced tea can be OK. So long as you don’t put Ice in it (just keep it in the fridge for ‘ecks sake) and accept it’s not tea.

I have a longstanding disagreement with my father about this. For him there’s nothing better than a cup of tea (hot; we’re British) and a slice of toast for supper. I point out that caffeine is a stimulant but he refuses to believe me!

The sound of peep toads, remind me of summers spent at my grandma’s house, in South Carolina.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is it just too cute that the cricket is playing a tune on his leg?

The super brood of cicadas, which at times sounded like the sound track of a bad B-movie-style horror flick around Nashville, has died down a bit, so evenings are now once again filled with the cricket-and-peep-toad serenade. Loving this Sunday’s strip, thank you for this gift, Georgia! It’s exactly what I needed to see this Sunday morning!

Speaking of windows … I love how Trevor’s and Bea’s has representations of the 4 seasons carved into it!

I make sun tea. 4-6 bags of Jasmine Green Tea, freshly picked mint, in a 1 gallon glass jug. Fill with water, place in direct sun for an afternoon, Strain the contents and chill. Most refreshing drink on the planet, no sugar needed!

This is such a gorgeous comic. We sit on the deck at night, bourbon (husband) and Macallan (me) in hand, listening to the toadyfrogs, the crickets, watching the fireflies, the bunapocalypse, our occasional fox and o’possum…It’s nature’s music and it’s so wonderful. We’re fortunate enough that none of our neighbors are annoying for the most part but we’re all on 2 or three acres (we’re on a little more than 3) so most nights, it’s just the critters and us. I need this print. It’s perfect. EDITED TO ADD: The store isn’t working, I can’t sign into it, when I put something in the cart, there’s nothing there, GC really is having problems lately. And I tried two different browsers so it’s not me.

The above sounds with some croaking frogs with a slight breeze through the pines and a glass of Kentucky burr bon to sip.

Iced tea? ICED TEA? No, no, no. Iced tea is a pre made mid day drink cool down drink.

A nice cup of Yorkshire tea (my personal favorite) and a small plate of biscuits would definitely be in order here. While the tea is brewing one has the time to just sit and enjoy whatever entertainment may present itself. A good cup of tea isn’t just about the drink, but about taking the time out to sit back and relax while one makes the tea before consuming it.

Thomios: Guys, you’re back just in time for the Perfect Perch supper.

Iggy: The undiscovered room turned out to be a game room. We kinda got carried away playing.

Wally: We brought back a few games to try out. Maybe we can design a few game boards from these patterns.

Beatrixia: And maybe we can make the new room at the oPyramid into a game room.

Elvis-Anum: It would be good to have a place where games could played in an atmosphere of dignity and decorum.

Ora Z: Can we scatter the game pieces everywhere?

Puckmosis: There might be some games that lend themselves to physical activity. Twister, for example.

Thomios: Anyway, we may be able to include games in the upcoming Chalk and Cheese party.

I’m glad Sophie is back in her window. I love iced tea. However, I don’t drink caffeine after 3:00 p.m. anymore.

I love the 4 different windows, and the contented viewers as well. Sophie looks so very happy to have hers back!

Hear in Florida we found that sweet tea is sugar water with tea

All “kitty in the window” views are from outside, except the pink one, where the tail is hanging. Odd.

Such lovely views of all those cats in windows. However, we are missing Elvis, Goldie, Tabitha and Sir Figaro Newton! I guess there wasn’t enough room for all of them.

A warm night and some music sound like a recipe for a good summer evening.

Brutus, the resident bear, visited last night. As he stared at Hubby through the window, he took down the drainpipe next to the front porch. He was annoyed that the bird feeders had been brought in for the night. So, the feeder will not be put back up until autumn.

Thanks Georgia for another moment of serenity.

I worked Renaissance Faires for many years. At night I would walk to the end of the dirt road and dance to the sound of crickets.
