This is a pointless little thread that did not advance Tiff’s character arc at all. In fact, she has relapsed. I thought she had learned some business know-how and real-world reality with her association with Bets, and the advice she got about sharing a smaller dorm.

According to dictionary.com, foo-foo (also spelled fufu or fu-fu) is “a doughlike West African dish of boiled and ground plantain, yam, or cassava, made into balls to go with soups or stews.” I don’t do foo-foo either.

Ok, G&K are taking the slow path to teach Tiffany it seems. The thing they need to have Tiffany realize (her class or from Bets) is that since she has a limited amount of product that’s not readily replacable (unless daddy who ignores you gives you something). If she’s selling to fit into a new room (the other option) I’d check with the facility and see if they have a storage area you can place your stuff in (my dorm did, for free too). I wonder if this is going to lead to another phone call, this time to a crisis intervention center.That would be cool on two accounts; 1) Maybe Tiffany gets straightened out a little more (otherwise I think we’re going to see a pretty hard landing coming since we haven’t seen anything on her class and know she was having problems there). 2) A great season to show people it’s ok to use crisis intervention. Much better to reach out than to autogyrate into the ground.

This is how Tiffany was raised. She’s in the process of learning, give her a chance, she’s working on figuring things out.

On the “value” of things: I asked an estate auctioneer what the value of a beautiful $2,000+ grandfather clock was. His deadpan answer: “The first bid.”

One thing to consider: does Tiffany’s father consider those expensive items Tiffany’s to sell or does he (and Ann) believe they technically belong to him since he paid for them? I’ve seen that dynamic in real life, and we’ve already seen that Tiffany’s father’s money comes with strings attached.

Okay, so it seems Thanksgiving has passed. I just hope that someone has leftovers for Tiff.

I am glad Tiffany is not selling all her stuff for a few pennies. But, unless she has a Bets/Gun clone up her sleeve who runs a consignment shop and owns a pickup truck or moving van…. then she is going to still have to engage in a lot more work than she is used to in order to get any real cash for her furniture.

Too bad for her that she doesn’t have squirreled away somewhere something like an undiscovered Monet or some such item.

Ok well I liked where she started out with this, but it doesn’t really track with what we’ve seen Tiffany learn. She knows about selling high-value lingerie on eBay for top dollar, but when it comes to furniture the only way to sell it is to call Moose’s cousin from the sticks? This week’s strip looks like it’s going to be “selling your furniture to an antique dealer, with extra steps”.

Oh, and I do agree with Mordy – and not ZeMaster, this was not a Gunther-led mess. The only thing Gunther did wrong was listen to Les – there was no reason to get rid of Irma’s furniture.

But perhaps the bit about a $700 rug means that Gunther was more in Tiffany’s class than Les.

Any more these days, something for less than $700 might not be good for anything other than kindling. I’ve learned that the hard way – a few times.
