I often talk to figments of others’ imaginations, too. It’s really weird encountering those conspiracy theorists when I know they’re not real.

Elvis’ reaction (forgetting his aloofness) is just like Spock’s in “Amok Time.” He thinks he’s killed Kirk (“Live long and prosper.” “I shall do neither, for I have killed my Captain and my friend.”) As he’s ordering the Enterprise back for his surrender, Kirk sneaks up behind him and says “Don’t you think you should run that by me first, Mr. Spock?” Spock grabs him with astonishment, relief and joy on his face, “JIM!! … Um .. I … I’m surprised to see you well…” :-)

I love the Woman’s mask! I wonder how BCN feels about her mask?

It’s 2:15am here. I had to wake myself up to read today’s strip. Did the same Monday morning too. Just BCN the others can wait. Going back to dreamland now. Very happy!

I hope camera one was out there recording the mailman climbing the tree. If Burt ever gets back out to the barn perhaps he can edit the footage and show it in a prime time special edition.

Elvis’s powers of critical thinking have been overwhelmed by his relief at seeing Beatrix safe. He has accepted that this masked imposter is the mythical Mailman of Puck’s imagination.

What is the evidence for such an idea? I see very little.

Say, now that it’s all well and good, how’d the little kitty cat get outta her building and get stuck up on that tree?

Cats react to people. My lovely sister in law Sue (another nurse but this time in ICU) has always loved cats. She came here and met Sooty for the first time. Soots was up onto her lap and snuggling down purring loudly. We thought Sooty was going to go home with Sue.

So much to love! Those masks! Puck believes! Elvis is overjoyed! Bea is saved!!

I’m so glad Beatrix is back safe. Elvis is absolutely adorable in his joy at having her back safe.

You just know that in real life, Georgia has drawn faces on the masks for her entire family. I is so cute!

Okay, logical question. How come the mailman brought Beatrix to the BPH? Was it that he remembered seeing her there before the bookstore? Or was it that he simply had to take her somewhere safe and knew the BPH people loved cats? Or did Beatrix get excited as he started to pass the BPH? Inquiring minds want to know.

Panel 3 brought back memories of Mr. Rogers and, was it Mr. McFeely, the postman in his “neighborhood?” I’ve no idea why, but that instantly popped into my mind when I read “Special Delivery” this time…

While Elvis displays uncharacteristic joyfulness, Puck seems uncharacteristically subdued. Or maybe he’s just stunned and relieved to see the elusive mailman deliver Beatrix.

I think Puck is just temporarily stunned to see the mailman up close and in person, and so relieved to see that the mailman is delivering Bea to safety that his reaction will be delayed until tomorrow. Cat bless the mailman!

Bless your heart Sardonicus, it’s got nothing to do with the authorities and everything to do with a reluctance to kill off our beloved elders.

World Rhino Day —Rhinocerus are preposcerous! And that’s as good a reason to preserve their species as any. People are afraid of the elephant in the room, and the bull in the china shop, but those don’t have a patch on a rhino in any room or building. And a word to those who think rhino horn will “enhance” their masculinity: It won’t do anything except irritate your bowels. There are better sources of dietary fiber, some of which will “enhance” your love life.

National Elephant Appreciation Day —Appreciate them, or you may be the squishy stuff between their toes …

National Centenarians Day —If you live to be one, perhaps you are winning the race!

National Hobbit Day —Not nasty, nor brutish, but still short. It is also Bilbo and Frodo Baggins’ Birthday. It is hereby proclaimed that it shall “snow food and rain drink,” everyone should have “a second breakfast on the lawn,” and have a quietly comfortable day. It is also Tolkien Week, so all you Elves, Dwarves, and even Men can celebrate, too.

National Ice Cream Cone Day —Hobbits would have loved the idea—desert with an edible “dish.” A great way to celebrate the day.

Chainmail Day —Still in production and use, and not just by re-creationists. I used to knit chainmail, and still have most of the tools. Mail (short form, nothing to do with a formerly mythological creature called the Mail Man) links come in four varieties: butted (ends of each link not fastened), riveted (ends of each link overlapped and riveted), soldered (ends of each link soldered together), and welded. Today is (continued): Ancient mailsmiths are known to have made butted, riveted, and soldered mail. There is some evidence that Celtic and Roman smiths may have made welded, or partially welded mail. Welded mail became common in the Middle Ages. Ironically, we do not know how they did it. The mail has survived, but none of the tools used to make it. Modern smiths had to reinvent the tools. For welded mail, we use specialized electrical spot welders. Riveted mail is incredibly labor intensive.

Elvis hugging the Mail Man made me so happy—almost as happy as Bea’s paws. But I can’t wait until the cats start discussing the magical mail man to see Puck’s reaction and comments. What will Lupin and Goldie think about it all??

The rain we had the other night didn’t do much more than clear the air here. It’s nice to see blue skies again though.

On an up note, a writing advise blog that I frequent had a list of YouTube channels they recommend. I was already subscribed to all but two of the channels. I didn’t recognize the last one on the list, but when I checked it out, I was already subscribed to that one too. While I was there, I took a look at the newest video on the channel (it’s a short). It’s hilarious, so I changed the link on my profile page to that video.

Something pretty extraordinary happened, as Pucky hoped for. Not only was Bea rescued and by the mythical Mailman too, but Elvis was friendly!

The real figment, Elvis, is believing Puck imagines things. Never doubt the Puck, he’s right more often than you are about things like ghosts and the mailman.

Hooray The Cat-Child is found and safe and sound. All is well and Elvis is hugging a mythological being.

I have five masks. one for each day of the work week. They are all of a friends special needs cat. Unfortunately, the kitty passed away last August. But the money for the sale of the masks and other clothing and things goes to different charities for special cats.

OT: I officially know what it’s like to be the most popular person in the entire world. I came home after a vacation of 11 days to a cat who missed me. Talk about a boost to the self-esteem. Everyone owned by a pet knows what that’s like!

Love the masks on The Woman and The Girl. Hannah and I have Kliban Cat face masks that we wear quite often.

Indeed thank you pucks imagination, for both this and that beautiful fight yesterday.
