âThe object for our players is to get three stars in a row, across, up and down, or diagonally. It is up to them to figure out if a star is giving a correct answer or making one up. Thatâs how they get the square. Each game is worth two hundred dollars, we play a two-out-of-three match, our players play for four hundred dollars, and once a day we play the Secret Square game. Weâll play that game as soon as we complete the one in progress.â
(Typed completely from memory. I wonder what practical use those brain cells could have been put to if they hadnât been wasted storing that speech all these years.)
Okay, thatâs actually cute. And Iâm betting people under 30 will get the reference. Thereâs probably lots of ironic Brady Bunch videos on YouTube.
I have a question, but Iâm not sure anyone can give me the answer. Iâll try anyway⊠If a two-headed girl is on zoom, does she get one spot or two? Discuss and get back to me.
Whatâs with the Amish guy in the upper left? Or am I over-interpreting?
Iâm playing in an online chess tournament this weekend. In addition to the actual playing interface, they want everyone to have a webcam set up behind them and a little to the side so they can make sure that people arenât running chess analysis programs on their computers. When the tournament is over, the web cam gets disconnected, and I have no need to use Zoom for anything else.
Peter Marshall: In The Wizard Of Oz, the Tin Man wanted a heart, and the Lion wanted courage. What did the Straw Man want?Paul Lynde: He wanted the Tin Man to notice him
Say, give it up, give it up, televisionâs taking its tollThatâs enough, thatâs enough, gimme the remote controlI been nice, I been good, please donât do this to meTurn it off, turn it off, I donât want to have to seeâŠâŠ..
There are many familar with The Brady Bunch, but for those like me who experienced it first run once a week at the same age as the characters, it was special. Pig I too was a Jan fan
The constant references from old farts (I mean, respected elders) must have triggered more attention than âBrady Bunchâ, âHollywood Squaresâ, and later seasons of âMuppet Showâ have enjoyed in a long time.
Under 30? How about more than twice that and still had to read the comments to get the reference (not a TV buff). Still donât get who Marcia is. Or the joke.
NiceâŠ.but Iâd venture that youâd have to say forty, not thirtyâŠI saw less and less of these kinds of shows in syndication by the early â80s and the only thing I ever watched by that time was MTV and The Movie ChannelâŠ
As you well know, the 9th grade English teacher is over 30, so of course I remember the Brady Bunch. You know youâre old when even your former students are over 30.
It was in syndication well into the 80s and 90s. When my oldest son was about 7 he was describing something to me and then said, âNow hereâs the groovy part âŠâ. I said, âGroovy?â He said, âYeah, that means âcoolâ.â I said, âI know what it means; I just never expected my son to say it!â
WHO WAS RAISING THREE GIRLS OF HER OWN. THEY HAD GOLD HAIR, LIKE THEIR MOTHER, THE YOUNGEST ONE HAD CURLS.By the way Iâm 13 so youâre wrong goat. Gen Z still has culture.
