Yes! Get rid of cilantro! I never understood why it tasted like soap until this past couple years when they finally did studies on it. Horrible stuff. Horrible! And if it’s in something, that’s all I can taste. eww

It’s kind of like October: pumpkin spice everything.
If I want spice on my food, I’ll put it there.
Spices became a part of western civilization in the days before refrigeration and were used to cover up the taste of rancid meat. Nowadays, they are used to cover up bad cooking.
They are the gastronomical equivalent of a high school band: if you can’t be good, be loud.
Famed chef Julia Child hated cilantro with an unbridled passion. She banned it from her home, her kitchen, and all of her sous chefs from using the herb.
My wife loves cilantro. That doesn’t bother me because it doesn’t taste like ANYTHING to me. I can chew on leaves & stems and taste nothing. I guess I am lucky I missed out on the soap gene.
Many years ago, when the price of parsley was going up. I came up with a parsley subsitute. Unfortunately, the taste wasn’t acceptable unless you mixed it with some real parsley. Then the price of parsley went down and I had to abandon the scheme. Too bad, I had an absolute blinder of a tradename: Partially
Benny’s obviously not very bright since it’s well known that many people don’t like cilantro. Clearly he should have tried something like ice cream or chocolate.
Well, March 4 has come and gone, and the 2nd coming of the most recent savior didn’t materialize any more than the 2nd coming of the original savior. You’d think that after awhile (like, say, 2000 years) it would finally dawn on these suckers that they’re being hustled. But no.

what does the guy on the right have against Cilantro?

Why? What’s there to agree or disagree when the other side is clearly wrong? Ergo, we have all solemnly agreed to disagree that we disagree.

I got Eggs Benedict at one restaurant topped with cilantro. It actually tasted very good.

As far as I’m aware, Cilantro is the same thing as dhania. We use it in curries and as a garnish in curry side dishes.

Problem is street garnish. Never sure if you’re getting the uncut real stuff.

Who garnishes with cilantro? All I see are parsley garnishes. I like a little cilantro in Southwestern dishes, but haven’t seen it as a garnish.

Cilantro is not a garnish. It is an essential ingredient for salads and salsa. Parsley is a garnish…no taste…only a little color.

For those who like cilantro/coriander, see:
https://draxe.com/nutrition/cilantro-benefits/
Some substitutions:
https://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/shopping-storing/herbs-spices/cilantro-substitutes
Depending on the dish, mint and fennel have been suggested as a substitute.
