Although, he probably shouldn’t have said that. If any or all try to get out of his grip now (likely), then one or all will get out of his grip (certainly).
I don’t see a seat flap in Beatrix’s footie jammies, but I do see that pointy little tail disappearing into the room the rest of us are really wanting to see!
Give the man credit: He did manage to hold on 4/5 cats. That is NOT an easy feat. I can barely hold onto my cat Stewie when he’s struggling nor him and my dog Yoshi at the same time. ic an’t imagine rangling 4 animals at once. But yes Georgia you should have gone upstairs and gotten Tabitha and Figaro’s woman to help you hold cats. (I would sya Tommy’s woman but I get time is of the essence in this situation. )

The tail end of Beatrix in panel 1 is too cute! The looks on the faces of the reporters in panels 2 and 4, and how they just “hang” there is great. I think Elvis wins for panel 4. No one does angry better than him!
The Man has a point. Everyone who’s ever had a cat knows that holding one when it wants to get away is nearly impossible. He’s still managed to wrangle 4 of them!
Hm. I very, very rarely have any finikin-type thoughts about a BCN strip, but today I do, to wit: I think the action shown would be better portrayed by swapping Panel One and Two so we see the track of Bea’s escape from The Man’s clutches, then her bounding into the newly opened room. But perhaps I’m once again mis-grasping something.
I love the facial expressions in panel 4 (and 2, obviously). The Man’s says “I did good, right?”, Puck, Lupin, and Goldie are saying “Yeah, don’t forget about us,” the Woman is worried, and Elvis just wants to get down. Burt, get a feed on Beatrix ASAP! I think she is about to make some new friends.
All my cats got outside once through a tear in a screen. I had to gather them all up and carry them back inside all at the same time. We mended that screen right away.
Yeah, do kinda have to give the Man credit for that much—successfully holding onto four cats simultaneously without cat or yourself getting injured in the process for that long a stretch of time is a bit of an accomplishment.
We once left the grate off a cold air return on the second floor. Fortunately for dear, departed Waffle, there was an access hatch in the basement. He was a cat of very little brain. He also had trouble making up his mind, at times. It was those baffling hospital corners …
That is a bright side considering how well Elvis get’s along with the Man. Heck, he could have lost Puck, Goldie, and Lupin and it would have still been a bright side as long as he kept a hold of Elvis.

Elvis will be next to wriggle free, just to go after Beatrix. (And also how dare the Man hold him in such an undignified manner!)

Yes, yes you should have seen that coming.
I LOVE the Man’s “…But look how many I DIDN’T lose hold of!” reaction and Elvis looking so irritated in the last panel!

L, P, and G look nonplussed in panel 2 and delighted in panel 4. Elvis looks distraught in panel 2 and despairing in panel 4.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Puckmosis: I’m going up to the Very Good Pyramid Library to borrow some scrolls. Anyone want to come along?
Beatrixia: I’ll go. I want to do some organizing there anyway.
Elvis-Anum: I understand Wally and the Artisans have completed the comfy chair project in the lounge.
Bea: That’s right. And Thomios is working on setting up a cafe there as well.
Lupinium: Ooh, I love Thomios’ special coffee blend.
Puckmosis: He created that just for you.
Bea: Yes, rich, full-bodied (whispers) and decatf.
Puckmosis: So, let’s all go. Who knows what we’ll find at the library?

Holding four cats at once IS quite an achievement. The Man just didn’t have big enough arms for five.

I do believe Elvis is slipping away in the last panel. He wants his kitten back. Be prepared for more poofage of epic proportions.

Ah, that 20-20 hindsight. Yes; always lock the cats up before you start opening up the walls.
I hope Beatrix goes carefully – there’s something yowling on the other side of that door!

Off she goes into the wild mauve yonder,
Wiggling free and on the run;
Here she comes zooming and filled with wonder,
At ’em girl, snooping is fun! (snooping is fun now!)
Down she dives, glad to be out from under,
Off with one heckuva roar!
Let’s say her name ‘cause she’s bound for fame. Hey!
Nothing’ll stop the kitten Bea force!
