Hellfire update. How can I put this? Picking him up is like trying to hold onto a slinky made of Jell-o. Once I have him he grunts. Grunts! I think my cat is “special”. He is learning to cat from the boys and the dogs so we’ll see how he turns out. From sick feral kitten to ???

For those also needing the full juicy details on him and baba: They dated years and years ago, back when Baba lived at Quinn Animal Shelter. Wicket used her to get closer to the other animals then convinced her to run away with him once the owner of the shelter, Freddie Quinn, caught on to who he truly was. They lasted about a week before Wicket abandoned Baba with a turkey on a beach. Baba eventually made her way to the farm, met Burt’s grampa, and here we are.

Yep. Baba was a hot babe.

Baba still has good hearing … or Bea’s whisper isn’t as quiet as she thinks.

Just like any grand mother, Baba can be making biscuits and hear someone talking about her, in the next room!

I knew “The Owl and the Pussycat” story had to come up sooner or later.

Like Burt said when we first met Baba Mouse. Practically blind, but excellent hearing. I notice Beatrix, having been caught out in panel 3, hasn’t bothered to whisper in panel 4. Nice touch.

And what’s worse, he used to date them at the same time.

I enjoy the book plug in panel two. I wonder how many others Wicket abandoned on a beach with a turkey.

Biscuits of rage and regret!

Beatrix isn’t afraid to bring up the cringe worthy moments of history. To be fair, Baba never repeats a mistake.

OT: Touch a Truck Day.

On Saturday, the local fire department, in conjunction with the local and state police departments and and nearby first responder units hosted the first annual Touch a Truck Day. What does that mean? The fire trucks, ambulances, heavy machinery, etc. used by first responders were open so kids and families could climb on the trucks, ask questions, and learn about what these brave men and women do.

I was honored to take part in this event as a member of the local library. The county has a bookmobile that has been officially designated the life enhancement response unit. In honor of all first (and subsequent) responders, and all who make our lives so much better, here is a shout out on this most solemn day.

Wicket still looks like he has a bad toupee.

Baba’s scarf now seems to be the same fabric as her tail drape back in the day.

Lots of notifications under my bell today – I loved that most of them were taking me back to the beautiful BCN strip on June 01 2019.
