I so love the look of complete insanity on Lupin’s face. That, and Ora Zella sitting atop her throne, whistling?

Actually, Little Cat’s activity raises that question. Smart as these cats are, somehow they haven’t yet begun holding formal debates.

Since Puck is the climbing expert, I think Lupin should look to him for wisdom. Oops, did I just mention Lupin and wisdom in the same sentence? Nevermind….

Forget climbing up the frame of the door, one of our previous cats, Tepo, would somehow scale the door itself and stand on the top of the door with all fours. We would ask him “How do you do that?” as he stood there nicely balancing himself like a gymnast on a balance beam.

My wife would have a fit, but I would love it if Lil’ Baby Frodo could zoom up a door frame.

So, I’ve been thinking he is about 3-1/2 to 4 lbs. We weighed him 910 grams – roughly 2 lbs. Since he is almost a year old, I don’t think he is going to be getting much bigger. The vet thought he might be part Munchkin since he is so small and has shorter limbs. I think his earlier injuries kept him stilted, and stunted his growth. But he is healthy now, and he’s happy, which makes us happy. He is going to look like a kitten for a really long time.

I sort of imagine Lupin and OZ as comic book heroes that, even though they saved the day, also left a wake of destruction behind them. I can see them in their costumes now: Captain Kaboom and the Flying Flamethrower!

    Katy Perry: Firework

Do you ever feel like a lightning bolt

Racing through the house, ready to strike again?

Do you ever feel like a gust of wind?

    Everything’s a breeze, creating quite a din!

Do you ever feel already at the top?

Climb the door post, sing, and always do your thing!

Do you know that we love all that you do?

Cause there’s a spark in you

You just have to run and climb and we are there!

We know you could be anywhere!

    …….

    Ora, you’re a firework!

    Multicolored tortitude!

You make us all go “ah, ah, ah”

As you run down the Big Pink House’s hall!

    Ora, you’re a firework!

    Multicolored tortitude!

You make us all go “ah, ah, ah”

As you leave us all in awe, awe, awe!

What goes up must come down

Ora’s paws don’t touch the ground

    Talkin’ ’bout her hustle

    Entices fearless Lupin

    Like a happy pony

    Lets his willing zeal win

    Cute and funny, chaos-prone

    Leaves poor Elvis all alone

    Talkin’ ’bout his troubles and

    He’ll never learn

    Indulge that crazy pony and

    Let Lupin have a turn

Did he find a directing sign

On the straight and narrow door way

    Elvis finds a reflecting sign

That brightly shines within his mind

Flashing the dangers that are real

Trouble is waiting just for two

All cats know that’s nothing new

Drop all the fear and give it a try

Climb a painted door frame and

    Dig in, don’t slide

This goes back to the 1970s, but we had a cat called Bouree, small even when fully grown, who outdid Ora Zella. She would leap from the cabinet that held our stereo equipment to the top of a door frame. She would then turn herself around on the top of that narrow door frame (it might have stuck out about an inch from the wall at most) and leap about 4 or 5 feet to the top of one of our stereo speakers, which was mounted on the wall a couple of feet below our high ceiling. From there she would leap another five or six feet to the other speaker, wash herself, and sit there observing everything.

We knew she was getting old when she would sit on the cabinet, look longingly at the door frame, and change her mind. But she lived over twenty years.

Lupin is a pistol, for sure. He has the energy of a kitten. When I have foster kittens, Moose just watches them zoom around. I think it exhausts him just watching.

Up until recently Roy’s thing was Barbs canopy bed posts, he would climb up the bed curtains until he got too big. Later, he would leap from the dresser to the curtains and climb up. He would perch on the corner poles and meow until I would pet and praise him for being the “top cat”. These last few years, he would wait on the dresser corner until I was in range. He would jump on my back or shoulders, and claws, and make the trip up. Now, he shows no interest in his “salad days” I guess his hips are bugging him these days.

Begs the question (of a fact or action): raises a question or point that has not been dealt with; invites an obvious question. So Lupin’s comment is not wrong.
