But it still isn’t an Olympic sport. You’re going to have to work on that some more.

I have always loved rainy weather. At least since I learned to read.

You can build an ark!

Of course, you’re supposed to build it BEFORE it rains.

I can think of two great activities for a rainy day. Sleeping and reading. Neither of which would interest Calvin.

I did that no matter what the weather was like.

Yes, BUT, that sport could get you EXILED to your bed and possibly without Hobbes—for good measure ! ! ! !

Arts and crafts. Music or dancing. Learn an instrument (pots and pans don’t count). You can still go outside and splash in puddles. If I were Calvin’s mom, I’d opt for that last one!

Don’t worry, Calvin. In 30 years there’ll be e-sports, and you will do it come sun, wind, snow or rain.

I loved rainy days on the farm. Didn’t have hay or straw to put up, didn’t need to plow, disk, combine, pick, or anything else. I just sit in my room, on the floor, leaning back near the window and reading a good book. Oh, how I loved the rainy days.

Cal isn’t careful, that pot and spoon will become devices to punish.

There were 7 of us. Mom musta had really good pills.

My mother made us clean house when it rained!

Cavlin is really good at that!

Mom will pretty quickly put him to doing quiet chores.

Careful, Calvin. Unlike the other things you mentioned, this is a “sport” that has a referee who can impose penalties.

Mark Buehrle used to do a little slip and slide routine on the grounds crew’s tarps in order to give the fans a reason to stick around and wait out rain delays. Calvin could try that.

No, you are wrong. There is a great sport for little boys. Uniform is rainboots, raincoat and a rain hat. The sport is puddle stomping. Who can make the biggest splash?

Does not sound very sporting to me. More like shooting fish in a barrel.
