The little cat of chaos and adventure strikes again. What is her plan? Does she have one? Will one of the cats be saying boo hoo roo? All may be revealed, later this week.

    Predictions:

    A) Ora Zella discovers a hidden kingdom of bureau mice.

    B) Ora Zella IS NOT STUCK AND DOES NOT NEED HELP. Really.

    C) Ora Zella chews her way through the back of the bureau and gets into the Woman’s paints or other non-cat-approved materials.

    D) Everyone gets stuck behind the bureau, one at a time.

    Place your bets!

Ora Zella, first, it’s a “byor row”, and, second, it’s what you’re stuck behind.

At least she’ll know if it’s gonna rain tomorrow. It’s a weathered bureau…

We had one cat who “tattled” on the other who had gotten into our cooking pan cabinet and was just chilling in there.

When my childhood cat, Blackie, was old, she would still get zoomies now and then. She’d run through the house and into my parents’ bedroom, hit the scatter rug, and let momentum carry her under a low clearance bureau. Then, with no room for a running start, she’d feel trapped, cry for help, and my mother would have to come and carefully extract her while Blackie made protest noises.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Iggy: That was a great fundraiser. Looks like the Getting Better Kittens will be able to get bigger and even better.

Iron Glove: This makes me so enthusiastic! Now I’m looking forward to building an auditorium for the Happy Healthy Hospital Pyramid.

Iggy: Let’s get our friend Wally and make a plan.

    Sometime Later

Wally: This sounds like a great idea. I’ll ask my great-great-great-great granddad, Ahwil-Fixit the first if he can create a design for it.

Iron Glove: I thought your great, etc. granddad crossed the bridge.

Wally: No, he joined the bridge team at the Senior Center. Elvis-Anum is his partner at the matches.

Iggy: We have plenty of tools, but I’m not sure about wood and other materials.

Sound of Giggling in the Background

Iggy: But how can you take more than you can lift?

    Violet-Ifa: We’ll never tell!

When Feral Mama HedgeCat’s three kittens were small, they’d run behind the china cabinet as part of their “zoomies” routine. Then Inky got too big to fit, and watched in frustrated amazement as his sisters ran through. Then Tippie couldn’t fit, and only TigerLily zipped through. Now they all occasionally revisit their erstwhile hides-holes, wondering at the way the world has shrunk.

Did any of you have a similar experience when visiting your old primary school as an adult?

    Ora Zella, Ora Zella

    Went to an Oryza seller

    Threw the grains around and…well

Slid a bit and down she fell

Why?, you ask she threw the rice

When it’s dangerous and not quite wise?

It was part of her Tarzan play

That came from “Rice Buerau’s” they say…

Makes me think of the time the family cat of the time managed to fall behind a bookcase (sitting in an angle in the corner of the room and leaving a small—perfectly cat-sized incidentally—gap). A tall one. If anything _over_loaded with stuff. At about 1 in the morning. And because the distressed and trapped cat was naturally yowling up a storm in hopes of a rescue, my poor parents ending up spending about an hour of their night emptying and then moving the bookcase so to free the cat they would’ve rathered spent sleeping.

A couple months later, it then all happened again. My dad then placed a wooden board over the gap between the bookcase and the wall, ensuring there would be no more repeats. As far as I know, that board is still there now, about a decade later.

Both Mac and PC like to jump to the top of my closet door in my bedroom. I think it was PC a while back that fell off (I am sure she would tell you it was on purpose) on the side of the door toward the wall. The door makes a triangle with the corner and I think she felt trapped. I suspect if I had waited long enough she would have figured out how to push the door enough so she could get out, but I helped her out.

    OT – Weather Forecast.

Georgia’s uncanny ability to forecast the weather 3 or 4 weeks in advance has manifested itself yet again. I live in rural Snohomish County in Washington State, maybe 20 miles from where Georgia resides IRL. Yesterday’s strip about the sun on the snow being blinding was amusing. But this morning I awoke to about one inch of fresh snow with the sun shining brightly on it, although it has since clouded over and we are now having a “wintry mix”.
