I love this particular strip because it treats Hobbes as just another adult in Calvin’s life like his parents instead of an imaginary friend.

I still recall that good pain… about 70 years later. Except for one that absolutely refused to let go. THAT one just plain hurt coming out.

I remember having a baby molar that took the longest time to come out. Well, it finally did—right in the middle of class!

Betcha Calvin uses that tooth as a “show-and-tell” exhibit—and Miss Wormwood will bring out the pliers she keeps for just such occasions!

Which of the 3 did the grossed out expression best? My vote goes to Hobbes…..

Ugh…I remember those days when my teeth were loose. My loose tooth got in the way of eating so I asked my mom to pull it out with a string. My children on the other hand didn’t have any trouble loosing their baby teeth.

At last Cal gets some ‘notice’ that’s not of his own planning.

Reminds me of pulling my own baby teeth when they got loose as a kid. Some dental floss or a piece of stout thread and I was good to go.

They’ll want him to either bite into it with an apple or go to the dentist.

That’s when you tie it to a string a string and then tie the other end of the string to a door knob.

That was the only thing I disliked about being a Sunday School teacher’s assistant for the littles (ages 3-7): the ones who would come in with, “Looky! I have a loose tooth!” I couldn’t stomach it with my own daughters! LOL

Back in the ’90s I knew a guy who had 2 teeth on top & 1 on the bottom – and as he chawwed his terbaccy (with his mouth open, alas and of course), 1 of the top ones would rotate……..

This is what we did for entertainment when there was only one channel of television. :)

I’ve forgotten over the years, but when one of my two front teeth came out, it took over a year to get the new one to show/grow in.

Okay, Calvin, now do your imitation of “Conrad Pooh’s Amazing Dancing Teeth!”

It is recommended that people that squeamish should try to avoid having kids. There will be many events like this on the road to their adulthood.

Now THAT brought back a memory I had long forgotten!

Real parents would be unfazed by something as minor as a loose tooth…

I loved it when they got that loose. My mom was a nurse. I never showed her because she probably would have said something like, “It’s pretty loose. Let me pull it so you don’t breath it in in your sleep,”

I’d think Mom and Dad would be used to seeing more gross things from Calvin than a loose tooth.

I remember doing a variation of this. Yuck.

That reminds me of an identical tooth experience which I’d forgotten about for over sixty years.
