If there is a manual for raising children, it will be useless after they reach the age of two years, and learn to say “No”.

It’s probably available on-line.

Pam married young. Maybe she had her husband’s name at that point and there was confusion about addressing the manual and it was returned, “Addressee unknown.”

You have to read the manual to learn about the manual. Page 42.

There’s a manual. The only problem is is that it can only be read one page at a time one day at a time. It’s called Experience.

Alas, one thin manual for males & a much bigger one for women

There was a manual — several, in fact — but people never agreed on which one to use.

Back in the 50s, some parents thought they had a scientific manual for raising kids, written by Dr. Spock. By the time I was born, parents were blaming Dr. Spock for hippies, drug abuse, and all of the other things young people were up to.

I was confused by the grownups blaming the Vulcan on Star Trek for all of society’s problems…

Yep the Manual is quite detailed. Included is several checklist. If followed correctly and nothing missed, life is good. But also included is the emergency checklists. You should memorize all emergency checklists. When things go bad, you must know what to do. Three main rules Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. In that order. Also on landing if it looks bad go around..

Frankly there should be a test to see if you qualify to be a parent. Some people definitely shouldn’t.

One of my favorite films “Antonia and Jane” (back in 1991) opened with a woman telling her therapist “It’s as if there’s a book about how to function in this world, and everyone in the world got a copy except me!”

Perhaps not the exact quote, but something to that effect.

I never got the Manual… only the Jose.

Nothing comes with a manual anymore (unless it comes from China, and then good luck deciphering it), you’re just expected to Google it or scan a QR code—which actually explains a lot about why many of today’s “adults” are the way they are.
