Oh, we’re back to this now? Okay, I guess.

More Shannon, ick! And over-nighting. Double ick. And she doesn’t shut up. It’s almost like she has untreated ADHA. Or separation anxiety. She doesn’t belong in a comic strip; she belongs in a sanitarium.

Jonah! Will we finally get to see Jonah again? I had kind of wondered if he still existed.

Excuse me, but who is Shannon’s real parent again?

Jonah is coming to get Shannon. It’s about time.

This is been the longest stretch where the lives of the rest of the cast – Tiffany, Gunther, Bets, Leslie, Stefini or Kip have not been mentioned. Oh, sure Bets and Tiff appeared in that rebranding skit but that was so profounded stupid even for them that it shouldn’t count. We seem to be stuck between Luann and Shannon. No good healthy story telling can occur with such a limited cast.

Jonah is supposed to show up and get Shannon huh? Sounds like a setup to me. Bet he doesn’t show and Brad and Toni acquire an instant family. Any takers?

Second child comes from momentary inattention.

If Jonah does not show up, Toni has just cause to file for legal adoptation of Shannon.

YES! A Brad and Toni arc… It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jonah, too.

So when Toni asks “why?” is she really saying she wishes she was an only child and that Jonah was never born?

Wanna bet Jonah will just show up to tell Brad and Toni that he’s off chasing another rainbow, and they’ll have to keep his kid a “little” while longer??

I have six kids, youngest is now 23, best thing we did. U have crazy times but the gr8 times way outweigh them.And the grandkids r even better, u have fun then pass them off.

Why do we have second kids? Nature tricks us into thinking the first one is easy and the second will be, too. Nope. That said, my daughter (the second) is just like me, and I never knew how much joy my mini-me would bring – unicorns, fluffy dresses, and brutal physicality and all.

“Makes you wonder how parents have more than one.”-Forgetfulness, the great superpower of humanity. They forget the pain. If remembered, no more babies or wars.

jonah is a bum who just drops shannon off whenever he feels like it without prior notice. he just uses toni and brad who do nothing but give in to it. would be nice if for once if they displayed a backbone and stopped letting him ignore his responsibilities as a parent.

A couple of observations:

We now have an idea as to WHY Toni is so reluctant to having a baby.

And of course, We see that Jonah’s is just as trifling as ever.

And TJ?

There are ways that you can HELP the New DeGroots with the Privacy thing.

I believe we had some extensive discussion here some months ago when Toni suspected she might be pregnant. The issues included the balance between work and home and childcare responsibilities for Toni, for Brad, even for TJ and Jonah. Some consistent reliable program is needed for Shannon’s care and education so that she will know to whom to turn and from whom to expect supervision and discipline constraints. Planning must map out space for at least one or two of Toni’s children with Brad. It must also map out reliable periods of privacy for T & B, without intrusions from anyone else. It appears that Jonah’s parental rights may need to be terminated, unless he embraces extreme changes to his life that accept full parental responsibilities and a reliable program of care for his child Shannon. Her care has been insufficient for too long already, and a new paradigm is needed ASAP. Otherwise the child services agency of CA state government may be called to intrude into this family. Some elementary public school teacher is likely to do this. Only if the family can demonstrate that it has already taken steps on its own to resolve the shortcomings will it be able to resist government intrusion.

Today is Monday! Jonah is going to find some excuse why he is not going to pick Shannon up again before the week is over!

T,J.’s comment in Panel 1 is pervy. I would never in a million years say that to the wife of a friend of mine.

Man, it must be tough to have a parent with a extremely busy job that requires most of their attention.

According to some, it’s just an innate drive to maintain the population.

Or wonder why anyone would want to be a single parent.

I didn’t think Jonah would be coming back

More anti-child rhetoric here. Children are gifts. It is selfish narcissim that keep parents from having more children.

It would be wonderful to see some pop-culture promoting larger families and with more children.

Instead, we are getting the “children as burden” philosophy in this anti-life culture.

Children are blessings. Accept them and embrace them. More kids are needed, not less.

Unless men and women have drank the feminist kool-aid.

This truly makes me wonder some people would ask childless couples “When are you going to have kids?!?” The couple may really, really, really have thought long and hard about the time, cost, chaos, etc., it takes to raise a child (let alone two or three) and have chosen to avoid such drama. Not such a bad choice for some folks.

There are times I’ve wondered the same thing.

Each kid comes with a 21 year punishment period, but with the right parenting input, they can be quite enjoyable for the most part.

So, Jonah is picking Shannon up, only to dump her on Toni and Brad again moments later?

Toni, you and Brad DO have privacy in your bedroom. Except, of, course when Shannon needs something.

Is this the moment that I have been predicting for years? Will Jonah arrive to pick up his daughter, or are we in for a phone call with news of mortality and pained facial expressions later in the week? The dialogue is pretty heavy for a Monday morning, and I have already written enough about how the Evans seem to be realigning the chess board. Cue Bugs & Daffy:

Once again Toni confides her real feelings to TJ. She has obviously gone back to not wanting children. She needs to be honest with Brad.

I wonder what kind of nightmares Shannon has, poor little girl. From this first strip of the week it seems that something big is about to happen. Maybe Jonah will say he got a big gig away and ask Toni if ​​they can keep Shannon all summer, or maybe he’ll take Shannon with him and Brad, Toni and TJ will be really sad without having lil Shannon around for months. I’m also starting to suspect that Brad and Toni will end up having triplets.

Are we actually gonna see Jonah again? And it’s interesting how Toni’s word choice makes it sound like Shannon being with her father is the exception rather than the norm.

Last two panels suggests that Toni will get pregnant with twins. Then she will find out why people have more than one child. I have an ex-student who has had two sets of twins, and she was a twin sister herself.

Someone else’s kid and your own are a whole different ballgame. Also, the parents make a big difference.

Brad and Toni are pretty much Shannon’s real parents.

Oh, for the simple days when Tiffany’s clothes were tight and her behavior was loose. Her goal to achieve the ultimate Bimbo status was an honorable pursuit, and then Greg messed it all up.

That requires privacy. Something you don’t have with TJ in the house.

Why? 1) effective birth control is relatively recent and not 100% dependable. 2) to create an heir and a spare. 3) so two kids can entertain and teach each other.

I’m curious to see Jonah. After this time performing has he grown up? Has he learned he doesn’t have the talent or drive for a successful career? My guess is he’ll be just as immature as ever.

I wonder if the “I’m glad Jonah is picking her up” comment is foreshadowing something? I just got a bad vibe from it.

It’s sad the way G&K are portraying the Brad/Toni marriage. They have weirdo TJ living with them who calls her husband Brad Boy (Why not Brad Man mister insinuendo?) and is literally on top of every move they make, they have her niece living there pretty much full time and they both have stressful jobs with long shifts. There’s no room for the private moments of intimacy and life planning that young couples need. Not good.

Maybe a new thread building, I’ll miss the old one, but I think we are probably not done with the “growth” of Luann arc, definitely my favorite in the last couple of years.

This really hits home for me. I don’t have children, thank god, but more than one? Definitely do not have the motherhood gene.

TJ’s the houseboy and cook—-the happy couple would be worse off without him.

My grandparents had 9 children. Today so many delay the first birth and the number of babies per family has really dropped. Many from Japan to Italy nations are reaching ZPG.

You know, back when I was a young woman overpopulation was the global problem. It was considered irresponsible, antisocial, to have more than two, the replacement number. Goal was ZPG.

US, China, India both signed on to reduce birthrate and raised living standards. Something must have worked.

Dear G&K Please change Shannon’s hair if we must see her regularly.
