I never really thought about it before today, but Schulz was a huge ally of female empowerment. I was a small child reading his strips with all the strong, empowered female characters, and those ideas really stuck.

Adding to my reply from earlier, Peppermint Patty and Marcie showed girls that they can be tomboys and smart in school, respectively. Lucy and her clique just put boys down through physical and verbal abuse to make themselves feel better. Who really wins here?
