i just love to see the boys checking their watches, it’s just too adorable!! also for the squee-ers, there are definitely some toe beans in panel 3, but are there a couple on the glass in panel 2?

Puck, shouldn’t you know these tricks by now?

Yeah, Puck, you need a smaller glass of water for a smol cat. That one there is waaaay too big … Orazilla is going to be widdling all night long!

Even for normal kitties, the process for going to sleep can be a long and arduous task.

I just hope she’s not building a sand castle in there …

OZ is definitely dithering.

(…won’t be the first smol cat who fell asleep in their litter box.). The kittens for adoption at PetSmart used to do it a lot. Luckily, the staff kept things very clean. And all their ferrets would sleep cuddled up in a tangle in their litter box; they used the corners for a bathroom.

I always envied my cats for how quickly and deeply they could fall asleep. I’ve battled insomnia for the past 33 years. It’s even worse when I know I need to get enough sleep to be safe to drive to appointments. Those will be the times I get no sleep for over 24 hours.

I keep my very cold water in an insulated water bottle. It keeps it cold all night and also keeps my cats from sticking their noses in it.

Sung to, I’m a Toys R Us, KId! Oz- I don’t wanna go to sleep! I wanna read! Puck-Young kitten you know, sleep is what you need! Oz- But I could go for water ya know! Can you fill my cup to the brim? Oh no, now I have to whiz! I don’t wanna go to sleep, cause Papa if I did! I wouldn’t know how that chapter ends! No no! I wouldn’t know how that chapter ends!

Getting a kitten to bed who “isn’t tired” is like putting your drunk friend to bed. There’s singing to themselves. Requesting water. Incoherent blabber. Crying. weird yoga posses. then they pass out.

My brother is the exact same.

All right, yeah, those are just classic bedtime stalling shenanigans.

Puck is mentally tapping his right foot.

Water…potty…water…potty—the unbroken circle, understood very well by young people and young cats. Only entropy can break this closed loop.

The other night when I was sitting with my mom until she went to sleep she used the same stalling methods.

I would say something, but, last night, I was scrolling YouTube shorts an hour after my bedtime.

Puck’s eyes look fiery in the last panel. She is really trying his patience.

I’ve been battling insomnia for 63 years. My mother gave up when I was 5 weeks old and got the doctor to put me on tranquilizers so everyone else could get some sleep. When my boys were very little and I had school in the morning, I would tell them that if they didn’t want to go to sleep, then they were not allowed to go to bed. I’d make them stand beside my bed and watch while I “slept.” Within a few minutes they would be begging me to let them go to bed. After awhile, all it took was the threat of not being allowed to go to bed to get them to go to bed.

But how far is too far for Pucky. I suspect Ora Zella is getting close. Pucky needs his 16 hours.

As I’m new here—have they shown strips with cats getting sudden attacks of the Zoomies and rocketing through the house?

Another familiar delay tactic. Puck might need a firmer presence on this one.

I was looking the other day for that story where poor Pucky says that he’s not really himself when he does not get his 16 hours, can anyone point it out? It’s SOO cute.And definitely, tomorrow Pucky will need a lott of catnaps end to end to get his sleep back….
