Like I said last week, this one’s kinda ROSE IS ROSE-esque.

Did Puddles wake up when the ogre ate Luann up? Why do they both look frightened and wide awake afterward?

Bleary eyed mom: No! I have to work tomorrow and I can’t risk the monster eating me, too! Go back to bed!

“Mommy, I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt I was being attacked by a huge marshmallow!”“Really? What did you do?”“I fought him off and then I just ate him.”“Oh my!”“Yea, then I woke up and my pillow was gone! Can I get another one?”

That’s scary. The whole idea that anyone, even a monster, would want to eat Luann!? Horrifying!

Hmm. Did the monster regurgitate Luann back into the bed? Perhaps the reason is she had eaten too much garlic the day before to counteract the sweetness of all the ice cream?

I’m also worried that the next Shrek movie might be terrible. But I don’t have any nightmares about it, yet. Luann is lucky to have Puddles around for times like this. Dogs can be tough sometimes with their behavior, but they also give a lot in return.

Say, is that the “new” Shrek??

For a Luann Sunday strip this is sort out there in left field. On the other hand it is not the same-old same-old so that’s a plus. As for having bad dreams at 19, I’m an old guy and I still have bad dreams. Not about being eaten by a monster but complicated things about insecurity and failure. You can’t condense a dream like that into three panels so being eaten by a monster works. So: I’m not sure I like it for a Luann strip but it very much works within it’s four panel format.

Anybody else creep out with the monster chewing on Luanns leg?

At least the monster was smart enough not to start feet first.
