The harder you try, the worse you look. Just let your hair flow naturally which it has been all along. Just resume your natural style. Your problem is not the hair – it is your wrinkles. You are now middle-aged. You might consider seeing a professional make-up consultant to guide you on how to conceal your wrinkles without breaking the bank or make being too obvious. The make- up of today does magic if you take the time to scroll social media make-up posts.
John is getting out of the room while the getting’s good. He doesn’t want to say one word. He has often said the wrong thing, so it’s wise of him to leave the room without speaking.
john’s coffe cup is suspended in mid-air in pane 4, just like elle’s dissatisfaction with herself and attempts to share her disgruntlement by getting john involved.
Or as the real Fleetwood Mac once astutely observed, “Don’t ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to”. Oh Well indeed……
I see all these commercials for these magic creams that take away wrinkles under the eye, but I think “sure, but you’re an old lady and that cream doesn’t help”. Just accept yourself.
There is a saying that used to be around in the 70s (or maybe later) “You’re not getting older, you’re getting better!” Love to think of this looking at my graying hair and facial wrinkles. It just feels better to think this.
When my Honey went thru “The Change” her long hair left and never came back. That should give you young fellows something to look forward to. Other things will disappear too, but, i don’t want to spoil the surprise.

That was a statement, not a question Elly.
howtheduck about 13 hours ago
John has learned that when Elly will not let it go, then it is time for him to go.

A wise husband knows there are no good answers to some questions!

It’s a variant of the “does this dress make me look fat?” question. Of course John can’t give an honest answer. He should give NO answer.

My wife does this… my response is where in that entire “rant” was the question? And then I do ninja moves which are not pretty.

What she needs is reassurance that she is still loved and wanted. Her daughter’s words really hurt her.

At least he didn’t ask “is that a rhetorical question”?

No way, no how! John knows too well that any answer will end up with him being thrown out of the house!

1) Then stop doing it.
2) ‘You just said you know the answer. Don’t try to blame it on me.’
