Umm.. Tiffany.. Have you EVER had a Boyfriend???

An interesting dialogue. I’m sure this will provide a rich field for commenters seeking a Tiffany-Ox romance!

Ox needs work. (No, Ox, I don’t mean you already work at The Fuse.)

It’s ironic that Tiffany is lecturing Ox on the fine art of waitering when Ox has been a waiter at least twice as long as Tiffany has. He started at the fuse right after it opened. Tiffany started about six-nine months after graduation when Ann has stripped away all her money.

Yeah, that’s the kind of ‘charm’ that inspires restraining orders.

Tiffany and Ox would be a nice couple…

Ox’s response is telling. He’s had a soft spot for Tiff in like for-ever!

C’mon, now who didn’t laugh, or at least chuckle a little at this comedy bit?

I liked the way in Panel 3 when he got embarrassed, it changed the shape of his head.

Tiff he is trying to tell you something.

Ox, you had fake girlfriends you adored from afar? Aw. Time for you to have a real one.

Bingo! This is Tiff’s moment of destiny. She will volunteer to teach Ox how to be charming and end up being charmed by him. This strip needs a real, mature, coming-of-age romance.

Tiffany and Oxford never have a significant other. They have an opportunity to change that.

Ox may be getting some very important social lessons in dating.

I would swear Ox is a lot shorter than when he was first introduced.

I’ll bet Walter Mitty wishes he had Ox’s daydreams.

Poor Ox, Tiffany is asking too much of him. But seeing her teach him how to be charming would be really cool. Tiffany might also help him find a girlfriend because she loves playing cupid. Ox deserves to have a arc all to himself for character development!

Misdirection play supreme, at least to me. This the closest indication that a romance might pop up between Ox and Tiffany, Sometimes I don’t know if the desire is stronger with some that Tiffany with Gunther or Ox(tord), but the important thing is it might be happening. Heads might explode.

Umm, yes, Ox. Also, where she wasn’t completely imaginary. :D

I think I see the problem – that line wouldn’t work on non-binary folks. Try, “Hey hotties! I’ll take your order if you’ll take my number!” That will definitely work.

It amazes me sometimes how bad some straight guys are at talking to women. They are fortunate that some women find their social ineptitude kind of sweet.

Why is Tiffany coaching Ox on waiting tables, if only to set up something? I hope this ends well. Maybe we’ll find out more about him.

Imaginary girlfriend…er girlfriends!

Its hard to believe that Tiffany, that snobby, better than everyone in high school is the one that everyone seems the most comfortable to talk to as a young adult. I think out of all of the cast, she is the one who has had the most development since being a teen, followed closely by Brad.

Tiffany has dated a lot. Ox has not. He is simple and he needs a simple girlfriend. That is NOT Tiffany.

Actually, the last panel is rather heartbreaking, if you have even a smidge of empathy.

I was seeing a girl for about a month. And then she bought curtains.

Tiffany says " ‘Kay " or " ’K ", Ox says “M’Kay” – is the letter “O” considered uncool or unsexy?

Why is Ox answering a question with a question.

Ox, that’s a surprisingly disturbing answer to Tiffany’s question.

So is Tiffany going to “teach” Ox how to act on a date? A plot brewing.

If the women are over age 50,they’ll love it.

Ox pretty much followed Tiffany’s instructions.

That last statement by Ox is pretty stalkery, but okay.

So, in his mind he had a romantic relationship with a real person? A person who never knew she was his imaginary friend? Geez, that’s something he shouldn’t tell people about. I wonder if it was a celebrity. What if it was Tiffany? It could be anyone. We may never know.

Oxford’s reply to Tiffany’s attempt at being helpful is devastating (panel 4). And I understand his comment fully (long ago, been there, done that)….

I’m puzzled. Talking to a girlfriend is not at all the same as talking to customers. At least, when I was a waitress, I would not have spoken to male customers the way I spoke to a boyfriend. Of course, I wasn’t the “flirty” type. So I think Tiffany’s “help” may just confuse Ox.
