That is one heck of a snow fall…

As emojis became more and more popular, the phrase ‘spell it out for you’ slipped from favor and was relegated to the past.

That’s Frosty the Avalanche.

Looks like it was drawn out for him. If it had been spelled out it would have said: “Caution, falling snowman zone”.

Why, what was he supposed to do?

Frosty wanted to trip the guy, but without legs he had to tackle him instead.

From the nearby meadow, came the snowman that mugged Parson Brown, to steal his identity.

Suicidal snowmen have become a problem?

But is this event covered by insurance?

it is hard to read and look up. Too much energy involved.

Very literal sign. Gives clear info. Other signs read STOP or YIELD but don’t give an explicit reason. : )

Considering that he fell from a good height, that snowman held up quite well.

Demonstrates that attention to detail, and sound building practices, make for a superior product.

It looks like Frosty came off the top rope on his candy a$$.

Who says they are becoming more popular? I can do without them. Nothing beats a “GET OFF MY LAWN” sign spelled out in all caps.

Must be D.C., they’ve been snowing us for years.

The National Archives is looking for people with a hard to find skill set- those who can read cursive. Even rarer, we mature folks who can write cursive!

For those who prefer things written out and lament the use of illustrations, I invite you to join me in trying to assemble this piece of furniture that arrived with written assembly instructions but no accompanying graphics. I’m sure the Chinese ideograms will be all the info you need to succeed.

This is why it is illegal in 65 states to put a snowman on your roof. :)

Sometimes they are in denial even when you do spell it all out.

I’ll bet that most of the people reading this wouldn’t know what to make of the black letters ARRÊT, DETERNER, ΣTAΣH, or FERMARE on a white rectangular sign, but if those very same words appeared in white lettering on a red octagonal sign, you wouldn’t need to know what language they were written in to get the messsage. Imagery cuts across language barriers.

I become hyper aware when I see signs that say Caution, Stop or Yield especially if I’m riding my bicycle, you’d be surprised how often those signs are ignored. I’ve seen school buses with the Stop sign displayed and some idiot on the other side of the street on a non divided road ignore it. Hello Driver’s Ed 101.
