I enjoyed the Easter Egg, but didn’t have a chance to comment until now. I assume you want to make it sound as English as possible, so I offer a couple of tips.
“ However, he soon discovered the quiet life of Blandford Forum, Dorset, England, wasn’t for him.”
The English way of saying this is
“ However, he soon discovered the quiet life of Blandford Forum, in Dorset, wasn’t for him.”
(People who don’t know that Dorset is in England are not worthy of consideration.)
And the term “billy club” was not used. The implement was called a “truncheon”, and elicited vulgar quips from housemaids.
KandiasOverton called this a ‘Foster Fail,’ and I believe they are right.
I told all of you how we got Holmes…I was selling my books at CARE STL for their Christmas fundraiser, and during the evening, Marie and I met this exuberant orange kitten with one clipped ear, not quite done growing, who would run up to you and give nose kisses. One of the CARE staff noticed our continued treks into the cat room and suggested we take Holmes home as a foster cat. Marie and I exchanged a look and knew that fostering would be pointless. Once we had Holmes in our lives, we would never let him go.
I don’t know what I am going to do when I work on the next fundraiser. There is no addition to our house to open up for more fur babies.
The suspense, the Drama, can we wait another day to find of what those two choices may be. Will the humans put in an adults only play room with toys, whips and other accoutrements? Will they humans create a theater room with dark lighting were humans and cats alike can act as if they are in the balcony of a movie theater? Will Elvis admit his undying love for Ora Zella? Will Lupin finally prove that the mailman exists? Stay tuned to discover the answer to these and other mysteries in the Big Pink House, on As The Litter Box Turns.
The way Iggy keeps waving to The Woman makes me think he has a bit of a crush on her. And Ora Z’s exuberant spoon brandishing and flinging (in spite of Puck’s diligent shushing) is just what I needed this morning.
Today is the day Georgia will have surgery on her hand. She posted this yesterday: “Tomorrow is hand surgery day! Thank you so much to everyone who suggested strips for reruns. I picked all classic strips from the original early days of the newspaper run! I hope you’ll enjoy them, I believe they will run in late May (since I work a bit ahead.) The Sundays should run in June, I believe! Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support and encouragement, and to the The Daily Cartoonist for their kind words here as well! (I forget somethings I share will become cartooning news! How surreal and sweet to see them wishing me the best, thank you!”
Apropos of nothing, the image just popped into my head of Ora Zella riding the pendulum of a grandfather clock, singing “I came in like a wrecking baaaall….”. Of course, that’s impossible as The People have a cuckoo clock, not a grandfather.
I don’t think Puck is paying enough attention to the Man and Woman. He still looks worried in the last panel that Ora Z’s antics are going to cause her and Iggy to go bye bye.

What could they possibly be talking about?

Lupin is beaming. Iggy looks so happy in the last panel, getting petted by the Man. Ora is in classic tortie kitten mode: bonkers.

Yes, yes, they get to stay! Hopefully. I love how friendly Iggy is, and I just know Georgia has the talents to balance this large cast of cats.

Elvis-Anum: That was a delicious meal, Floof. Your chefs outdid themselves.
Floofnet the Joyous: My pleasure, Elvis. We had some delicacies mysteriously procured for us from unknown sources.
Violet-Ifa: I’m sure it was coincidence that Alice and Agnes Ata were coming back from a cheesetaking seminar at Punn state.
Beatrixia: Where do you keep your recipe scrolls?
Floof: We have a library not far from our gold and jewels room where we keep our older scrolls.
Bea: How did you come across them?
Floof: There was a scroll room in one of the corridors. I think there may be others in places we haven’t explored yet.
Beaver Lee Cleary: So you’re saying there may be other scroll rooms in the pyramid?
Floof: Almost certainly. I think there may be some rooms that have been sealed up as well.
Ora Z: Can we go knocking down walls?
Iggy: I think we may need Burt-Ra and his crew for that.
Ora Z: But we can go look for them, right? (Takes off)
Iggy: We better go after her.

I hope that their minds are in sync and the two things they each have in mind are the formal adoption of Ora Zella and Iggy.

Now here she goes again, you know she wants her freedom
While Pucky tries to calm her down
It’s only right that she should play the way she feels it
But listen carefully to the sound of the voices
Soft and sweet, makes Puck glad
In the stillness of remembering what she has
And what she lost
And what she has
And what she lost
Oh, thunder often happens when she’s playing
Pucky would love to know that she is staying
Say, Woman, she has come and she can’t go
When the Man agrees with her, you’ll know
You’ll know

An Oldie from Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose: Too Late to Turn Back Now
A good friend told me,
They said, “You must beware!”
There are kitties who need our love and they are everywhere!
They will steal your heart
It will no longer be free
Now since I’ve met these two little cats
I can feel it’s happened to me.
And I’m tellin’ ya,
…….
It’s too late to turn back now!
I believe, I believe, I believe I’ve fallen in love!
It’s too late to turn back now!
I believe, I believe, I believe I’ve fallen in love!
…….
I find myself hugging them at least ten times a day!
It’s so unusual for me to carry on this way!
I can’t sleep at night without a kitty by my side
Love has found me now, and I can’t ever go and hide!
And I’m tellin’ ya
…….
It’s too late to turn back now!
I believe, I believe, I believe I’ve fallen in love!
It’s too late to turn back now!
I believe, I believe, I believe I’ve fallen in love!
…….
I really don’t mind at all
Because I know they really love me to!
They have found their furrever home!
And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do!
And I’m tellin’ ya
…….
It’s too late to turn back now!
I believe, I believe, I believe I’ve fallen in love!
It’s too late to turn back now!
I believe, I believe, I believe I’ve fallen in love!
