well that’s true but look who is doing the telling, she was doing so good now she’s back to old high school self. and ya know we didn’t get an answer i really doubt she did either so she’s prolly talking out her ass again. but Really Tiffany couldn’t you wait for an answer before you start to say anything? plus though Luann is Curious don’t get me wrong but why would anyone else care?

Tiffany, these are the working people. You are spreading college gossip that has nothing to do with their workplace. Do you think they care? And did any of them see Bets? There was just one time she came in to meet Gunther at The Fuse. Tiffany was on duty and so was TJ but clearly he didn’t pay attention to the drama. Not sure about Ox and I don’t think Pru was there either. So, why would they care? Just hold off on gossiping until you get back on the campus and spill it all with Bernice and company. Of course Bernice will share with Luann who will tell her that it was not confirmed because the darned dishwasher’s lips were zipped. Then Luann and Bernice will know where Tiffany got her intel.

I guess “happily ever after” doesn’t make for ongoing drama.

Her co-workers have the look on their face of “umm ok, why are you telling me this and why do i care who gunther is sleeping with?”

……..aaaaaand that’s how rumors get started.

Ah, so that’s the plan: focus on the rumor instead of the actual truth. Notice how we’ve strayed from Luann and her question, so instead we focus on a bunch of people spreading uninformed gossip. In the end nothing new will actually be revealed, mark my words.

I suppose TJ will give Gunther the same abstinence lecture he gave Luann so long ago in that PSA. Baking your girlfriend a cake is more pleasurable than making love, Gunther! Actually, I don’t know why TJ would even care about the love lives of younger people who aren’t even in his peer group.

Ah from social media personal promotion, to Luann’s mildly racy speculation, to good old plain gossip through the overheard ears, and immediate mouth of Tiffany Farrell. Social Media and gossip are the same thing really, it’s just that one moves everywhere at the speed of light. And Tiffany does not have Les’s response, if he made one yet. But gossip does not care about the roots, only the breathless communication. Also I disagree with my CP friend above; everybody gossips, its as much human nature as the seven sins as described in the Bible.

To gossip is human! And if you don’t believe that, consider the fact that there are a bunch of folks who gather online pretty much every day to gossip about a bunch of characters who exist only in a comic strip!

This is a conceptual piece, I take it – what if elementary schoolchildren looked like adults and had jobs? How would they talk?

Oh wow; i see REALLY bad things happening. I predict Bets finding out about the rumor mill spreading word that she’s sleeping with gunther and thinking gunther told his friends they had sex. She’ll think she can’t trust gunther to not “kiss&tell” and she’ll break up with him.

Tiff is in her moment – she lives for this type of thing.

Well Gunther should man up and do it with Bets. And a better question is did he do it with Rosa down in Peru?

I’m sorry, but this once again leaves me flabbergasted that this storyline is actually a thing. Does Greg want us to believe this or does he live under a rock as to modern youth. College-going students actually surprised a couple is “doing it” ?!? The opposite would be much more of a topic to gloat over: " Have you heard … Gunther and Bets haven’t actually yet …."

And so it spreads like wildfire. Poor Gunth and Bets who will be caught in an unintentional maelstrom.

Well, THIS was painfully, pathetically, predictable.

That’s right Tiffany. Spread rumors about the GUY that was there for YOU when YOU were depressed back in 2017. Not to mention who helped you with your studies in College. And Bets, the young woman who befriended you when hardly anybody else did. And who helped you last year , thru dire financial straits.

But that’s okay. THIS Officially puts Tiffany and Gunther EVEN for the time he made an arse out of himself trying to “protect” Tiff from Les, back in 2018 during that two dates in one night train wreck.

So it’s all good. And I’m not going to feel too bad the next time Ann Eiffel breaks one off in her.

This is such a dumb story line. No one this age will be shocked or shamed by this information. A realistic reply from everyone would be “So what?”

My how times have changed. Way back in 1983 or so I don’t remember anyone over the age of 18 using the term “doing it”. I also don’t remember stressing over who was or wasn’t doing it. It just wasn’t an issue.

ahh nerts, Tiff is gonna be a gossip aggregator…though how much do you wanna bet that Gunny and Bets decide to have “the talk” because of this..followed by “the sleepover”

So this has devolved into a workplace gossip arc??? Disappointing. I mean, they’re a little old to have their reputations ruined! :o\

I have a feeling this might turn into the tail waging the dog – gossip about Bets and Gunth taking it “to the next level” leads to embarrassment for the G man and a bold Bets going “well, why don’t we give them something to talk about”

They’re acting like a bunch of 7th graders.

Is that really such a big deal now days, they are acting like they are in middle school.

The only person Tiff got a rise out of is Ol’ Smiley. The way things are going in Tiff’s arc, she’ll probably get fired and lose three or four friends!

I was going to comment on how none of there people are young enough to consider this interesting or even be shocked by it if the people in question are together, but y’all seem to have that cornered so can I just say: I’m so glad Tiff hears this and, instead of getting jealous like Luann, treats it as an exciting piece of gossip. There’s no annoyed looks/sarcastic muttering so whatever “feelings” she may or may not have had for him are long gone. Now if only Luann could get a life (sigh).

Does Pru even know Gunther?

Oh no. The Old Tiffany strikes again. Pretty disappointing,ut now I want to see what this gossip will lead to. I hope Al Gray hears it and has one of those conversations that help grow with his stepson.

Well It’s like they say, pictures or it never happened. With how bets has been snapping a way, there certainly is plenty of evidence to support the case. but hey, if they ignored all the Simpson DNA evidence, they can ignore all this right?

And thus the origin of the dreaded “Fake News”. Seldom ever holds any truth for anyone.

This is just too painfuland boring to read. Cannot laugh either because this sadly is how some people really are. I have to check out for a while and go on vacay from Luann until this Bets Gunther thing is over.

Doesn’t TJ OWN Kafe Kablooie?

This is starting to remind me of the one episode of The Office when Michael found out that Stanley was having an affair and so he started spreading the news around and then when he found out that it was true and that Stanley didn’t want him to tell anyone else about it, Michael then started to spread other rumors about everyone else that weren’t true except for one about Pam being pregnant. I Still love the one line that Kevin used after they found out what Michael was doing, “Michael, you told people that that there was a smaller person inside of me working me with controls?!”

Wow! I can’t believe this is happening. I went to college in the 70s and NO ONE was like this. No one cared about anyone else’s sex life nor would they have been shocked in the least about a couple being involved if they were exclusive. It’s just silly. But I predict Gunther will be outraged when he gets wind of all these rumors. Up until now I’d just assumed that they WERE intimate and had been for a while. But with all this drama surrounding it now, GandK will probably play the card that they haven’t. This is a big tempest in a teapot for sure! Gossip for 1950 not the 21st. Century!!!!!

Oh Tiff, this isn’t high school anymore. No one is going to care who’s hooking up with who, unless it’s an ex or a crush.

Oh God. I do not like where this is going.

I think I’ve outgrown this strip. These kids simply cannot evolve. Maybe Bets and Gunther have a fighting chance, but the rest of the females are in a time warp.

Even though Tiff has zero evidence of her allegation, it would be nice if some people in this strip had healthy sexual relationships.

Rumor mill grinds rapidly and not so fine.

Who cares if they are or not. They are approximately 19 years old, and this isn’t 1965.

Does anyone really care about this stuff anymore?

a) Didn’t realize they were still in junior high.

b) These days, wouldn’t it be more of a story if they weren’t ?

Gossip that would have been important in high school. I am not sure why these grown adults would care.

“The Day of Reckoning”

(Luann and Tiff wailing in unison) We’re sooooo sorry Gunth and Bets! We didn’t mean for this to happen!

Luann: See, there was a strange man on the street corner, passing out “stupid” pills and Kool-Aid, I don’t know why, but I felt compelled to take them.

Tiff: I was on my way to work, and somehow, I also drank the Kool-Aid.

Luann and Tiff: Then, we started to listen to Brad’s old Judas Priest albums, which have subliminal “Do it!” messages!

Luann: I took “Do It” to mean that I should start investigating if you two were “doing it”.

Tiff: And I took “Do it” to mean that I should tell everyone I know about half of a conversation I heard from Les about you two!

Luann and Tiff: It’s all the fault of Judas Priest! Maybe you can sue them?

Ah, out of two misunderstood words, an entire Soap Opera is born.

My opinion….

1. This unsubstantiated rumor by Tiffany will of course initially rile Gunther to his maximum when he hears it.

2. If he eventually learns it is from Tiffany…. or (incorrectly heard) from Luann…. it will result in a confrontation between Gunther and whomever he blames.

3. I think there is a high probability that Irma and Al will hear of the rumor before Gunther does.

4. I tend to think that Bets will likely not care what the rumor mill states.

5. BUT…. in the end, I suspect that the rumor WILL get Gunther and Bets talking more about their intimacy (or potential intimacy).

The rumor mill style arc is one that is a nearly sure bet for lots of “hillarity ensues”, so I suspect we will have an entertaining ride.

I really do not like gossip.

When Bets spends the night with Gunther people can stop wondering. And this is right down Tiffany’s alley…..young, secret love and clandestine rendezvouses. Hot gossip makes her blood pump.

Interesting how Gunther is the one in a relationship, while the rest of them are not at the moment.

This is bad. It’s going to get back to Bets and she’ll assume it was Gunther who started this and when/if Luann confesses, it will put a huge strain on their friendship.

If you didn’t see it with your own eyes, or hear it with your own ears, don’t invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth!

It seems odd to me that this is a thing… If you showed me a random couple that age, I think my default assumption would be that they were sexually active together, unless I had reasons to think otherwise.

I’m going to suspect (read: hope) that Tiffany’s gossip may be falling on disinterested ears, and that she and Luann are the only ones who find such information relevant. Another hopeful outcome could be Bets realizing that posting intimate interactions (e.g. kissing) on Instagram does have consequences; people will extrapolate. What goes around comes around.

Wonder what Frank and Nancy will think when they hear the rumor … will they wonder about Luann, and will Nancy have a “talk” with her?

Nice to see Pru, Oxford, and even TJ (ugh!) again, Tiffany is sure getting around and gossiping garrulously. But that’s what a blonde’s gotta do, right?

And, besides, the rumors Ain’t All That!

When this arc started, it was about Gunther and Bets at some cosplay event and Bets’ constant snapping of pics to post on Instagram. The fans loved them, egging Bets on. But now the flip-side where perception is spiraling out of control, a giant ‘rumorball’ rolling down a hill getting bigger and bigger. Maybe this whole arc is about social media. One moment it enhances a relationship while in the next it has the potential to destroy. Perhaps this will conclude as a lesson about its downside; maybe it will stop Bets’ compulsive addiction to it and her relationship with Gunther will be stronger and better for the experience.

Tiff didn’t hear anything except Les saying Gun & Bets are doing it! Now Tiff will think Les is the source! This may get Les fired for spreading workplace rumors instead of Tiff.

This all could get very complicated!

Forget Gunther’s Girl!!!!…. I wish I had a girl like Jesse’s girl!
