The JOB is to be (re)elected. Doing that involves a lot more kowtowing to the folks who control lots of money for advertising than it does doing things for your district But they always do some of that kind of stuff (well, their staff does) because it looks good on their re-election posters.

Dang! Truth in advertising.

A weasel in office? That’s nothing new.

To be elected to a higher office, you have to be egotistical, greedy and power hungry. Narcissism definitely helps, too. I have yet to see any of them in the House/Congress on up thru the President who have been truly humble. Some just have better PR than the others.

That’s being too honest

In New York, we have an elected office of “Public Advocate.” The Public Advocate gets no vote, but sits in City Council meetings Advocating on behalf of the Public.

Silly me, I thought that was that they all were supposed to be doing. The existence of the office is an admission that the rest of them aren’t, isn’t it?

Congress both sides of the aisle. Term limits is the cure.

Well this one should hit 400 today.

No relation to wizard Ron Weasley, I presume.

Spoken like a true politician with his own agenda…..WE the PEOPLE aren’t even considered….and they keep getting re-elected….

Isn’t that kind of up-frontedness pretty much the opposite of weaselhood?

Here in Florida 40% of the registered voters do not get to vote in the primaries because they do not belong to either party. So, as a result this group is relegated to voting for the lessor of two evils.Changes need to be made, such as all Federal elections have open primaries or better yet all Federal elections use Ranked Choice Voting which will negate the power of the two parties.Both parties have been bought and I am tired of their attitude of thinking they know what is best for everybody.

I think no matter where one lives, most of us think we are that weasel’s constituents.

Pastis got us going this morning, that’s for sure. Senator/Congressweaselman represents the state I live in.

Our senator is retiring. He is probably staying in D.C. He is too old for a real job and hasn’t been back in so long he can’t find his house keys or house.
