Since they share a bloodstream, I’m pretty sure Hunk-Ra doesn’t require his own shot.

When parts of this are separated there is so much different humor within the whole strip. I found it very funny just to think that a person who has been injecting numerous people over many days would respond casually to such a request with “I guess so.”

Well, they have said that so much of our behavior has changed in the last fourteen months. Norms? What norms? We dune need no stinkin’ norms.

I wouldn’t mind a vaccination to rid the strip of Hunk-Ra, but know it’s not going to happen. However, since he seems to live in her head will a shot in the arm provide him with protection or should she get it in the ear?

Now that’s a husband. BD is a man that understands and accepts all the wife’s little idiosyncrasies.

But I thought the entire cast was already vaxxed. Remember Zipper’s shot and the line of non-Doonesbury characters?

Wow, I didn’t know she was still doing that. Last time I saw a “Hunk-Ra” strip, I was reading the classic reruns from two decades ago.

I used to think that Hunk Ra was an amusing manifestation of a personality disorder. Upon reading today’s comic, however, I realized my wife also channels an ancient warrior. I don’t know it’s name yet, but I recognize its voice every time I do something especially stupid. “That voice” is terrifying and always sets me straight. I think my wife’s channeled warrior exists to make me a better person. Anyway, that’s how I’m choosing to look at it.

I could be picky and say I’m pretty sure that Boopsie exorcised Hunk Ra before she finally married B.D. but I suppose a guest reappearance is understandable for today’s joke (and PSA).

This is the first time I’ve seen Hunk-Ra with a bra. Musta missed the other times.

I really like how casual and accepting BD is of Hunk Ra!

Three weeks. Now we know Hunk got Pfizer.

Why can’t Joe acknowledge the fact that Donald got the vaccine ball rolling with Operation Warp Speed? Sure Donald screwed the pooch with everything else, but maybe this small gesture would help the right, the evangelicals and the rest of the doubters to get their shot(s).

Too bad there’s no vaccine for irrationality.

The funniest part is when BD says “Not really.”.

I thought it was 4 weeks? Mine was.

More people need the shots. The more the merrier. Although, cases are down and things are improving. It should make a really big difference as children come on board. In our area, Children’s Mercy Hospital in KCMO is conducting pediatric trials on kids 6 months to 11 years. Their dosage must be scaled down, of course. Kids are doing well with the shots. I’m sure other places throughout the US have pediatric trials going too. If I had a little one, I would check it out.

Hasn’t Hunk-Ra been dead since before agriculture was invented? It’s hard to believe he’s in any danger of getting COVID.

The punch line would have been funnier if the nurse had said “See you three in three weeks”.

I noticed a couple stores that I went to yesterday were still requiring masks, and both Starbucks and Chipotle don’t have indoor seating. I was surprised to see this but I don’t see anything wrong with being cautious a bit longer until the vaccines work their way through more of the population.

Whatever works. It was worth giving it a shot! :D

I was given Pfizer in February. Slight soreness in the injection area for about a day after each shot. It only hurt if I poked my shoulder or raised my arm above my head. No bruising or other symptoms.

In California, they are used to people like Hunk-Ra.

The “not really” absolutely makes this one. Burst out laughing at that.

Did not have side effects from either.

I was in the first wave for shots, and as the vaccine improved, I took the second version when we had a surplus.

Anyone else notice that Hunk Ra’s mother’s name is very similar to the ancient Celtic fertility figurines/carvings, one of which is referred to as a Sheela na Gig? They depict female figures—how can I put it delicately—touching themselves.

That was just… strange… it’s still her one physical entity.
