Luann, it is your chance to get fired. These are your charges and you are to ensure their safety as the number one priority no matter how they beg and whine and wail. AND you gotta rein in Tara. She has no sense of safety. She is the adventurous type after all. She will get you in trouble AGAIN.

I think Tara will only be able to show the kids her kit. It’s not likely they’ll be able to draw a bow that would have an adult draw weight. And they certainly can’t shoot arrows in and unsanctioned school yard.

Luann can start by showing the kids that, unlike herself, an arrow has a quill.

No school has fence that short. This is annoying.

Didja see the archery contests at this past Summer Olympics? There was so much junk on those bows that it’s a wonder the archers could even lift them!!

And there’s Tara, as always, climbing over the slippery slope.

Remember, Luann. Kids are 1st.

I thought Tara was in Wyoming—or somewhere out west.

And next thing she knew, Luann was talking to the manager at Wienie World and working out which late night shifts she could work after explaining to the manager that her dismissal from her last job was simply a misunderstanding…..

Oh, don’t worry.

I’m pretty sure Tara’s little “lesson” will go just fine.

Until one of the kids goes home and tells their parents what they “learned” in school that day.

Then a shocked, outraged, parent shows up at the school the next day demanding someone be fired for teaching their kids about “weapons.”

Frankly, I’d be more concerned over how that little girl in panel 2 lost a tooth.

I don’t think this is going to end well. Luann will likely get in trouble for allowing Tara to show her arrows.

Don’t do it…

This will only end badly as Tara is entering school property with a weapon and Luann is allowing it. If they get caught, the best luann can hope for is she get reprimanded. She could also be fired on the spot for “negligent endangerment.”

Personally i have NO problem showing kids a simple bow & arrow. But Luann’s bosses and the kids parents would over-react and just see “weapon” and the potential worst case scenario.

Tara’s got it figured out (confident expression).

If Tara is going to shoot an apple off of some kids head, I hope she is a good shot ….really good.

Kids love Tara instantly ♡. They want to see the cool archer di something. I think this will ends well. After all, Tara has proven that she’s more responsible than she appears and Luann believe in her really much.

For The Kids …..

Luann is really stressing out over this decision.

Sure, Luann, let somebody into the schoolyard with a deadly weapon. That won’t get you fired or anything.

This is where Tara gets Luann fired from her job for allowing an unauthorized person to bring a deadly weapon into the area…

This won’t end well.

The only thing missing from today’s strip is Tara saying, “Lighten up, Luann, what’s the worst that could happen?” followed by an It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia-style title screen: “Tara Starts an Active Shooter Emergency at an Elementary School.”

I don’t see a bow in today’s panel.

Wherever Ginger goes, trouble follows. Surely Luann should have figured that out by now.

What could be next? Luann loses her job for a friend bringing a “Dangerous” weapon onto school premesis? Tara arrested and carted off to jail for the same? Will there be text at the bottom of the strip stating “No Children were harmed in the making of this Comic Strip!”??? Stay tuned!!!

Tara must have a knock-down bow, as all I see in her pack are arrows.

And Luann, the bumbling doofus, once again makes a major judgement error LOL! This is the exact kind of poor decision making that led to a recent Shannon and scissors story and before that the Tara hit and run event. How many times have they had her do things that have led to someone getting injured? These are the two I remember.

SWAT team is already on the way.

Tara has been on a roll as a victim-then-hero lately. I have a hunch that GnK aren’t going to let our girls get into too much trouble over this. Then again… Of what interest would a bland arc be after this set-up!

How does that smart alec of the group know that Archery is an Olympic event? It’s not like it was featured prominently during the NBC groups coverage of the games.

Tara shoots kid with arrow. LuAnn fired, charged by police, sued by parents. LuAnn retires from comic strip and Ann Eiffel becomes new G and K strip.

Archery = bow and arrow; but where’s the bow?

A bow and arrow constitute a deadly weapon. It is illegal to bring a deadly weapon onto school grounds (and Tara is in fact trespassing, since she didn’t go through the visitors’ admissions procedure). The question isn’t whether Luann will be fired – that should be a given – but whether she and Tara will both face criminal charges. (Just kidding. In Pitts, people don’t get charged with crimes. even when a felony conviction would be an open and shut case. Just ask Ann Eiffel’s fraud victims!)

As usual Luann loses control of things.

I once showed the kids on my bus videos from my Taser training showing several of us being Tased. I didn’t show the ones with bad language. The supervisor got an angry call…

You know what elementary schools love? Unauthorized adults hopping the fence.

There’s a time for thinking and a time for shooting arrows at k— WAIT! I just remembered that this is an american strip. Maybe I shouldn’t associate “shooting” with… y’know…

Luann will end up standing against a tree,holding a cigarette sideways between her teeth.

First of all, Luann did not sanction Tara to climb over the fence. Tara is climbing it as Luann is trying to get the kids to go inside.

Treating this as “real life” and not comic license, the day care will be seriously investigated by licensing and the police as dangerous weapons are not allowed on the grounds. There is no realistic way this can end well. She could have just as easily stayed OUTSIDE the small fence and showed the kids her equipment. This would end up prominently in the news in real life. Plus an adult who doesn’t belong there at all inside the fence?

Luann will definitely get in trouble for letting in an unauthorized person around the kids. Especially one who lived with a felon.

Is an unstrung bow a weapon? Target arrows are no sharper than pencils, and I hope there are some of those already on the premises.

Luann has forgotten the first rule of anything: Keep your eye on the threat.

I doubt that fence is up to code, it seems a little on the short side.

Looks like Tara is growing her hair out a little. She’s gone from a pixie cut to a short bob.

I was just watching a PBS show “Life After Sight” which featured a number of folks and how they adjusted to losing all or most of their sight. One of them went on to become an award-winning archer.
