A kitty choir holding their song books while wearing Christmas sweaters and singing their lungs out. Pucky toebeans! Happy children. Grumpy, sleepy parents.
I’m 72 years old and I can still remember my dad hollering it’s only 3 (a.m.) go back to bed…wish I could hear his voice again….happy Christmas to all!
I’ve been leaving my bathrobe draped over my chair at night. The other morning, I woke up to find Pingpong curled up on top of it and Sooti curled up beneath it. They were otherwise curled up together.
So he has seen them, father and son, clear through many generations slumber as children; but from where did they come down here? Family after family followed quickly, flourished, aged, went - but where? The riddle that cannot be answered comes again.
The gnome walks to the barn loft: there he has a home and a foothold high in the hayloft in the scent of hay, close to the swallow’s nest; now, of course, the home of the swallow is empty, but in spring with leaves and flowers she will assuredly come back, Followed by her sweet mate.
I’m the oldest of four and I ALWAYS had to be dragged out of bed on Christmas Day (and every other day as well—I like to sleep). My thinking—"What’s the hurry? Santa brought the presents; he’s not going to take ’em back."
Then she always has many a travel memory to sing about. Nothing about the riddle that runs in the gnome’s mind. Through a crack in the wall of the barn the moon shines on the old man’s beard. The streak on the beard glitters, the gnome ponders and thinks.
Mele Kalikimaka from Honolulu, Hawaii! Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday to Georgia, The Man, The Boy, The Girl, Elvis, Pucky, Lupin, Goldie, Iggy, and of course to all the Orbsters!
Wishing all who read these comments a joyful celebration of Christmas, or just a great weekend if Christmas is not part of your tradition. I am so grateful for BCN and this wonderful family of Orbsters, and thank Ceiling Cat for all of you! ♥♥♥
Ho ho ho. Meowy Catmas and a Happy Mew Year. May you has an aMEOWzing time ahead. And don’t forgets this the season of giving. So gimme all those Catmas cakes and delicious foods!
Merry Christmas to all the wonderful people of the Orb! I had my own kitty chorus, wake me up, this morning! My Cassidy, Tigger, and Tiger were singing- We want you to get up! We want you to get up! We want you to get up, to feed us, RIGHT NOW!!
Asking for positive vibes for Mippy. I’m very afraid for him. He’s lying on his side, breathing heavily. He’s been acting sick since I came home from late Mass last night. Refused the wet food that he normally gobbles up. Of course, the vet’s office is closed till Monday.
Merry Christmas everyone! The Orb is a wonderful place – just knowing that all of you kind people are out there in the world helps to keep me sane. Spread the love and joy!
(From my last post yesterday) I’d love to be able to reply to all of you individually, but I think that is nigh impossible, without missing someone—and I’d hate to slight any of you. Although I am not a Christian, I hold the sentiments of the day, peace on earth, good will to all, as sacred. So, to all of you:
May all the possible blessings and joy of the season come to all of you, and those close to you, regardless of species, spiritual beliefs, and any other distinction.
Could be MUCH WORSE!!!!! Could be what my sisters pulled one year. I remember trying to get my folks up at 4 or 5 AM ( maybe 6 at the latest) when I was little. That was bad enough But about the time they were about 11 and 12, maybe 12 and 13, we knew who was filling the stockings with Santa presents. So big deal, right? Except that year they sat right at the top of the stairs and waited for a couple minutes after midnight to raid the stockings. I’m a few years older than the oldest of the two and just wanted to sleep, would have prefered getting up 6 or 7. But their there at my door with “Want your stocking? Mom and dad just finished filling them.”
Ok, hopefully this time I don’t have to take down for editing any time soon. https://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/Entertainment/My-Christmas-Video-List-407220.html .I’ll most likely wait until tomorrow to take down for editing if I do have to make some more minor edits.
3:40 isn’t bad for Christmas morning with two kids that age. Signed, my siblings once woke me up at 3:15 AM after we had gone to Midnight Mass for the first time.
My cats (Kristy, Lexi, Levi, Milky, Selena, Christi, Christphor, & Mina) Woke up at 2am today and started to scratch my legs and led me to their food bowls!!!
Parents kept our house so cold at night (53 downstairs, and sister and I were in the attic where it was at least 5-10 degrees colder). None of us stirred out of our warm beds until they got up and turned up the heat to 68.

Weave a cirle round Her thrice
And close your eyes in holy dread
For She on turkey breast hath fed

And I suppose I should wish you all a Merry Christmas. Though my wishes do not change the grim reality.
