Sounds about right for Ora’s first brush with being part of the news instead of on it. I wish we could’ve seen all this but I suspect we’ll get plenty of on screen meeting shenangians once the storyline gets started. I also like that Bea finally gets to reenter the story after being absent a while. I’m not against the why, the reneviations, tommy and sophie moving in and various holidays meant they needed to focus on the magnificent 6 and Sophie and Tommy for a while, I just missed her and i’m curious how she’ll feel about two other kittens getting properly adopted to the house when she didn’t.

I imagine that Tommy trying to help Elvis caused little to no reduction in his stress levels. Not to mention his all tied up remark.

In a very weird way, I’m now seeing OZ as Norma Desmond. “I am the news. It’s the reporters who got small!” I have no idea what this means. Except that my brain is being its usual self.

Talk about tortietude! Ora is a lot like my late, lamented Honor.

Don’t eat or drink whilst reading this comic, lest you kitten all over your screen. We called it “kittening” in alt.callahans because kitten would be reading the newsgroup and ended up spewing food or drink on her computer. I think she kept local PC repair shops afloat on her own.

This is different from John Scalzi’s kitten setting of his Loving Mallet Of Correction that he implemented on repeat trolls on his blog.

Reminds me of our daily “stand up” meetings at work (cough! pretending to be Agile), minus the refreshments (sometimes there are refreshments, but never for “stand up”, only because HR felt sorry for us development minions. :P https://uploads-ssl.webflow.com/5e7b70db46c7ed4f6dc8b2e9/6282646faf2e2eb384c1a27a_is_it_a_pigeon.png

This speaks volume’s to Georgia’s talent as a story teller that she can have what amounts to text only in 3 of 4 panels and yet you know every reader had a visual in their mind of what Puck, OZ, Iggy, Elvis and Tommy looked like during the meeting!

I must attend weekly staff meetings where minutes are kept and hours are lost. Nobody brings us refreshments, light or otherwise. Do you happen to know if the station needs an older copywriter? I have a resume ready.

Sometimes things are best left to the imagination. For instance, I imagine Lupin made great puns and/or immediately asked Elvis to pass him a page, while Sophie ignored all the nonsense. Knowing Elvis, it was less “accidentally” and more slamming down his stapler without paying attention to how said stapler was positioned.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the Royal Palace

Puckmosis: Your Majesty, I am happy to report our trip was successful. We found a trove of scrolls at Floofnet’s Culinary School. Many are in an ancient language that will need to be translated.

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: I am sure Elvis-Anum will be able to translate many of them. And we can also enlist the aid of the ancient scholars from Punn State.

Elvis: Your Majesty, I will be glad to help in any way I can.

The Queen: Good. And I understand you have found more treasure the Artisans can use. Is Floofnet agreeable to that?

Puckmosis: His exact words were, “Help Yourself!” He has also extended an invitation for Thomios to come and visit.

Thomios: Wonderful! I’m sure Sue Chef can handle the kitchen while I’m away.

The Queen: I also have word that the Good Ship Red Planet Spider will be coming into port soon.

Iggy: I think Iron Glove, Wally, and I should get started on our gift for my cousin Ziggy.

Puckmosis: I would love to hear the story.

    Lupinium: I found my brooch!

Sophititi: I think for such an occasion a new tunic is in order.

Ora’s attitude is quite reminiscent of that espoused by Hunter S. Thompson!

Does the BCN crew now have a budding Gonzo reporter?

Where were Sophie, Tabitha, and Sir Figaro Newton while all these cat-shenanigans were going on? As for refreshments, I fondly remember some meetings where the bill of fare for refreshments included doughnuts, bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, fruit, coffee, tea and juice.

Anyone remember when the reruns (due to Georgia’s hand surgery) begin? In real life, she had the surgery a week or so go, and I imagine she prepares the comics several weeks in advance. Just curious about what’s going to be featured in the re-runs.

One has to wonder what sound effects (cymbals? Bass drum?) and visual effects (fireworks? sparklers? small explosions?) Ora Zella used to EMPHASIZE her STATEMENT before Elvis caused a distraction (was tea and/or coffee spilt?) with that clever (and dignified!) gambit with the tie and stapler . . .
