I’ve heard of having a green thumb, but this is ridiculous! Iggy just wants his own “plant bed” and I say let him have it! His sleep number is Purple Hyacinths? Or are those Purple Black Knights? I’M INVINCIBLE!
Between the control of personal gravity (or perhaps just mass) and the pointy bits at the end of each limb, removal process can, indeed, be complicated.
Aww, Iggy, you need to choose your plants better. The Woman might let you sleep on a big pot of catgrass, but squashing her Christmas cactus — right when it;s blooming, no less! — is going to get you removed posthaste.
Today, my pair of voids go to the vet for a routine checkup. I’ve already asked a friend to come help me herd them into their carriers. (The only room in the house with no hiding places or escape routes is the guest bathroom.) The panthers’ vet practice is feline only.
This is why I don’t have plants where Shorty can reach them. I put the new tree up, it’s actually nice! And where do I find Shorty? Underneath it because it’s just tall enough, she can sit under it and so she does, which irritates the dog because he can’t quite reach her. I’m waiting to find it on the floor… https://photos DOT app DOT goo DOT gl/UVQc69vHLnKWq1pJ7
My house came with a clump of daylilies that were literally visible from outer space – you could see it on the Google earth satellite shot. I think my female cat was miffed when I finally got rid of it, because it was her favourite place to curl up for an afternoon nap outdoors.
Looking for a conservation campaign to support? NPR has an article on efforts to save the axolotls in Mexico by virtually adopting one. It’s on their webpage under the heading Animals. I gave up on trying to include the exact link but they are a dot org.
Oh Woman! How can you deny a little cat his smells of morning and sunshine? Now is not the time to cat wrestle! Now is the time to get even more plants and arrange a little bed amongst them… Think of it as an early Christmas present for a Very Good Boy.
My parents have long had this big fern like plant in a big pot they keep in front of the living room’s big front window, and plenty of cats they’ve had over the years has taken to curling up within the pot for naps. It got to the point my mother often fits a kind of mat around the plant’s base and the rim of the pot so the cats can snooze in there without tracking dirt everywhere.
Squirt bottle. Or a tin can full of marbles shaken swiftly.Or get plastic plants…After decades of cat roommates I’ve also discovered a great love of cactus…Watching my cat trying repeatedly to get his teeth near enough to one to nibble a bite convinced me that if you got cats you NEED cactus.
It has dipped below freezing overnight here, so I brought my rosemary in to overwinter. So far Bartholomew has left it alone, even though it’s on the table that he uses for bird watching. Fingers crossed…

We sleep in the cactus
We snooze in the night
The Woman tells us it isn’t alright.
…….
It smells like the morning
It feels like sun shine
I’ll stay here for now
It’s perfectly fine!
…….
It’s really no secret
Where I want to be
I’ll just take the plant along with me!
…….
I’ll sleep in the cactus
And say to them all
“Behold and believe what you see!”
“This sleeping cactus belongs to me!”

Adobe Style: Trevor-Hotep developed a new cotton plant. It really makes a soft and strong textile.
Maat-Tilda: I think it could make some great wearable art.
Sophititi: I could also use some cotton balls in my sculpture.
Arachna Spider: I wouldn’t mind spinning some of the fibers. It would give my spinnerets a rest.
Enter Kat-Mandu
Kat-Mandu: I have a package for The Artisans!
Sophititi: Welcome! It’s always good to see the Papyrus Cat!
Kat: I have a box full of cotton bolls from the Cosmo Nurser
Tillie: Let me give you a hand with the package. It’s heavier than I would have thought.
Kat: That’s because it’s not just cotton.
Soph: What else is there?
Kat: A very tired kitten.

He does no harm
Relaxed and warm
In his little hideaway
Beneath the leaves
Resting his head
On a plant bed
Oh, he likes to be
Napping comfily
In the Woman’s potted garden
That she made
Without a doubt
The smells throughout
Soothe his soul and tiny snout
As he lies beneath the sprouts
(Lies beneath the sprouts)
Oh what joy
For a little Iggy boy
Knowing he’s cozy
And he’s safe
(Cozy and he’s safe)
We would be so happy
You and me
If no one takes away
His spot lush and twiggy
We’d also like to be
Sleepily comfy
In an indoor plant garden
Hugging smol Iggy ❤️
