Poor Pucky! Denied his birdwatching activities. But he and Ora Zella will overcome by using their endless imagination. Cue the next episode of BCN’s “Not Quite Animal Kingdom!”
This past week in Western Washington has seen freezing and frosty mornings. Once again, Georgia has accurately predicted the weather several weeks in advance.
Must consult my copy of The Felid’s Field Guide to Both Common and Uncommon Appliances … Let’s see … hmm … Ah! Autonomous Robots … species: cleaners … family: vacuums … Oh, look! Tortimer found some popcorn and glitter!
Frosted window panes…Candles gleaming inside…Painted candy canes on the tree…Santa’s on his way…He’s filled his sleigh with things…Things for you and for me…
We always had windows like that in winter when I was young. We also heated with a black, pot belly stove in the middle of the house until my mother told my dad I was too little, the house was too cold for a small child and he needed to do something so we switched to oil heat. He’d built the house by himself though and the insulation wasn’t good, neither were the windows so the frost on the inside of them was always so frosted, I would write my name and draw pictures. I kind of miss that. Now, our windows are so efficient, there’s nary a frost flake to be seen.
I love where I write. The front windows are on my left, and there is always a cat or three looking out at the birds, chipmunks, squirrels, and the occasional hawk or owl. When any of the critters get close to the windows, you hear chittering from one of the cats.
My old cat Murphy used to stare at the birds through the window and make a clicking noise. The only cat I’ve ever had that made that sound. She passed away in 2019 at the age of twenty years.

I love how Elvis has the typical cat reaction to “bad” weather.
“What is this foul thing and why haven’t the People done anything about it yet? It’s in their contract!”
“Doesn’t anyone ever read those thing?”

The roomba foe or friend? Dun dun!

Is Elvis wearing a sweater or has his on-air outfit changed?
WelshRat Premium Member 12 months ago
When it’s freezing outside, there’s always summer in ‘Our IX lives’ Puck! Although a Roomba is probably more exciting.

Silly cats. You not need binoculars to watches something that close.

The “wildlife” inside is none other than our robot cleaner here.

Flip back in your 2022 BCN calendars to October and I think Elvis is wearing the same or a similar sweater.

I love Ora Zella’s little tail wag in the last panel! Who needs outdoors? The Big Pink House is wild enough.

I guess, to Ora Zella, Tortimer is indoor wildlife and worthy of being watched.

They can see clearly now that Tortie’s on
He avoids all obstacles in his way
Dawn brought the frost clouds that Puck did mind
Ora had a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) end to dismay
With a wild (wild) (wild) watch underway

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Royal Snack Room
Mag-Lor: Thank you for your tea and scones. It is always a pleasure to visit with you.
Beatrixia: And I look forward to more stories of you and your family’s adventures.
Puckmosis: What are your brothers and your father doing now?
Mag-Lor: My one brother is in Japan learning how to create beauty from broken things. I believe this is called Kintsugi.
Bea: Our artisan friend Iron Glove has become an expert at preparing gold for making repairs.
Lupinium: We seem to have no lack of items needing repairing.
Elvis-Anum: Between you and Ora Z it’s no wonder.

Thank Cat we had all of ours double paned when we did our remodel/renovation. BC winters can get cold.
