Poor Pucky. He has a look of complete and total frustration. Imagine trying to talk the young cat out of a conspiracy theory about Santa, allbeit an awesome conspiracy theory. Santa the Changeling. Awesome.

OT: calendars for the Orb

Maybe Puck should warn Ora Zella about Krampus? Krampus is suppose to show up on 5 December, which should give her plenty enough time to booby trap the Big Pink House.

Another big question is, why isn’t Santa completely covered with soot and creosote when he goes through, tracking that stuff all over the house? But maybe that question is answered by shape-shifting, too. If he shape-shifts into the size of a grain of sand and then back again, he’d just have a tiny speck of soot on him.

He’s either a shapeshifter or a size shifter. Slim or tiny is the only way to get past the charred skeletons of chimney sweeps’ boys who got stuck on the way up.

That makes a certain amount of sense.

Darn… these savage little cats just roasted Santa’s weight in different languages. xD

Why not? Santa already has to break several fundamental laws of physics just to visit every house on earth in one night…

Well obviously Santa Claws is actually a cat.

Lupin is right, though. Santa is a shape-shifter. (The story that cemented the whole down-the-chimney lore presents St. Nick as “a little old driver” of a “miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer”. So, he’s probably even smaller than Ora Zella, at least in his chimney-traversing form.)♥

Well, he IS magic so can shift size. And Lupin might not be the best to ask about this. He has enough coal to keep the house warm for a month…

One year when I was a kid, I actually asked the department store Santa about this, since we didn’t have a chimney. He whispered and told me not to look directly at his hand or tell anyone what he was about to reveal, and then said he had a magic ring he could twist around and become whatever size was needed.

Of course, Santa was wearing a hidden mic so all the parents outside could hear whatever the kids asked for for Christmas, so that whole “our little secret” thing was a bit of theatre.

(One of the other moms besides mine was Annette Funicello; Mom used to run into her at that store every year.)

OT – ish about my Twilight Louise

OK we have a house full of cats who talk, drink coffee, wear people clothes, run a news agency and deliver regular broadcasts – and have a magic closet that provides anything they need. I don’t see how anything Santa could possibly do should be a mystery.

Ora Z: I wonder if there is really a Papyrus Cat.

Puckmosis: There is. You’ve met Kat-Mandu.

Ora Z: Yes, but how does he deliver all the papyrus in Egypt.

Puck: Actually, he is only one of many Papyrus Cats. They deliver all the scrolls and packages throughout Egypt. And beyond.

Ora Z: How do they get around?

Puck: They use camels, horses, whatever they need. In Italia they sometimes use donkeys.

Ora Z: Maybe they could launch the papyri. Like Wally and Iron Glove’s potato launcher.

Puck: Uh, that would require some careful planning.

Lupinium: Oh, a little chaos can be a good thing.

Puck: Around here there’s no such thing as a little chaos.

After three cups of coffee, that makes total sense!

He uses gnome magic. (They are 3 foot tall craftsman. They are gnomes, not elves. Humph!)

Santa Claus is magic. Period. Believe or do not believe, that is up to you. As for me, I believe.

He is Santa! There are no expalnations plausible or necessary! He just is and does.

Oh I can’t wait for the day when Ora Zella learns the truth. Once again there will be apprehension and distrust in the cat world, as it should be.

I’m losing it over Puck’s face

When you really think about it, and everything else the guy is purported to do, that assumption actually does make a degree of sense.

Also probably helps him to avoid detection, which explains why nobody’s actually found the guy while on the job.

Lupin, please. We’re only interested in pure scientific facts about the several-hundred-years-old man who uses magic to deliver gifts around the world in a single night.

More mysterious is how Santa fits down a chimney that isn’t there.

Let’s be honest, it’s the only explanation that makes sense!

I don’t know what is funnier: Lupin’s explanation or Puck’s expression.

You have to love Puck’s expression. Then again, why not give it to the cat with the big imagination?

Also, if your house doesn’t have a chimney, Santa has an oversized skeleton key that opens every front door in the world, so he can get to your tree that way. I’ve even gotten to see it!

How do you find a feral kitty that doesn’t want to be found? Decibel is missing. We are pretty sure she is somewhere in the house, but there are about a million places that a small cat can hide. We wouldn’t worry except that it’s been several days since she came out of hiding for chicken and 4 nights since I last heard her meow. Due to my oldest girl and I having trouble getting around, there are places that we just can’t get to to check. The oldest boy has checked all her usual hiding places, like behind the stove that we don’t use. At this point, I’m afraid that we will just find her body. The search continues.
