I’ve never been able to understand how cats can last that long underneath a blanket without coming up for air, esp. if they’re near someone’s feet!

My dearly departed Jasper preferred to be under the covers. He preferred to be the little spoon.

Meimei used to tell me to go to sleep by meowing, walking on me and turning the blankets back. Yep she actually showed me how she wanted me to get under the covers.

OT: heavy rain

I was wondering where momma’s boy was.

Most of our cats have gone under the covers, and all get on top of them. My MIL’s Morrie would go under her covers, and she’d freak. She’d yell for hubby to get him, and he’d point out that he’s fine. If he weren’t, he’d leave. Alas, her Alzheimer’s ensured she’d never remember.

Oof! Life imitating art. Sitting here in the recliner, covered with a fuzzy blanket and all 3 of my cats fighting for the best spots while reading today’s comic.

It never fails. The older one (and the freeze baby) waits until everyone is comfortable and then asks to crawl under the covers.

My black devil twins love to get under the bed covers, but not with me. It’s their hiding place, and it’s ruined if they know that I know they’re under there. Tucker does not like to be covered up under any circumstances. All three are great cuddlers. And I really wish this wind would stop so I could get to sleep.

Update only gets under the covers if I invite her. She usually sleeps on top of the covers between my feet.

Keep the warm air in and the cold air out.

How is there any pizza left on that plate with Puck still awake?

OT – more work issues

Just earlier I was snuggled under my blanket for an after-work nap. Blanket cocoon is love. ❤

I’m doing the cocoon this morning. First snow of the season here, so I will cancel my appointment in town.

Faithful Elvis! There’s nothing like the loyalty of a Siamese cat, when one needs to pizza cocoon.

I have a huge fleecy blanket my son got me and I can cocoon myself in it too and be warm and cozy for a nap.

Both Mac and George will sit on my lap on my blanket, though it is usually Mac. On a few occasions I have had both Mac and George when George got there first. Mac pretty much thinks he owns my lap I think. PC almost never sets on my lap, I do have a couple of pictures of both her and Mac on my lap, but I think she had her brother lay on top of her one too many times when she was on my lap and decided to just leave it for him. This time of year they all sleep with me at least part of the night, though lately PC has been off to the side. Mac’s normal place is down by my feet and George will lay by my side. None of my current ones are big under the cover cats, though PC has gone under them briefly when I am sitting up in bed and make a little tent for her.

I got a delayed Christmas present from my brother-in-law and sister-in-law this morning: a plush hoodie with three black cats appliqued on it. I love it! The cats are considering it as a sleeping spot.

Where are Iggy and Ora Zella?

I have two who will sometimes get under the covers with me, my Meezer who likes to be in a tent under my legs, and Marzipan who will get in the covers next to you and lay with her head on the pillow and pretend to be a person. I’m pretty sure that’s really what she’s doing. Sometimes she will press her face next to your face lined up as close to your view as possible, like she’s trying to imagine things from your vantage point. It feels like you have whiskers! She doesn’t sleep this way, fortunately, and her curiosity never lasts more than about ten minutes.

I wonder who the current record holder in the BCN Orb is for most cats on the same blanket at one time! I’ve got four right now.

How is it there is still a piece of pepperoni pizza sitting there with all those cats around it?

Love how they are whispering, so the Woman doesn’t wake up. Such good boys.

I’m not sure how a greasy couch and blanket are restorative.

I am confused. What is that on the plate in frame one? It looks like a half eaten slice. Surely such a thing cannot exist.

The remaining pizza is in danger.

Hi Georgia. I just taught a cartooning class last week and a little girl in my class (about 10 yrs old) told me that her favorite comic was ‘Breaking Cat News’! How awesome!!! :D

Somehow “pizza cocoon” is not bringing up the image we see, here …

My tortie princess has been crawling under my fuzzy blanket with me lately. A purry kitty under the covers makes it very hard to abandon the bed in the morning!

Georgia posted on facebook about Lupin. “It’s hard to believe that today marks two years since we lost this majestic weirdo. Nine years was not long enough. Lupin died far too young for a spirit as big and wild and free as his. Heart disease took him too early, breaking our hearts. I still feel like this happened only weeks ago. I miss Lupin like mad, and hope that if ghosts are real he finds a way to return to me and knock everything off the shelves until I’m old and gray and ready to join him. Clever, brave, bold, handsome, and hilarious, I imagine him chasing halos and batting the angels’ wings as I type. Come back to me, buddy. I’ll make any scary ‘Pet Sematary’ pact I need to make, just don’t drift too far from my side. We all love you forever, my dude. The best of baddest boys, now and always.”

OT: Trouble’s Gotcha Day and good news (๑′ᴗ‵๑)

It’s always wonderful to have support like that.

I like surrounding myself with a bunch of blankets and pillows. Create a little air vent and peek hole for the TV. I get an odd sensation of elation when someone comes by and they cannot see me. I always have.

Ha! I predicted this two days ago! Cats NEED to be on top of blankets (chrysalises)!

Since I have a CPAP, I can completely cocoon myself with the covers over my head, and not get the increased CO2 that always used to make me need to pop out of the cocoon and breathe.

And since the CPAP has a vent to keep from overpressuring, there’s a constant flow of air trickling into the cocoon, for any cats that might be buried deep under there.
