Glad The Woman was able to effect a not-too-noticeable repair on Big Red!
Sometimes, you get lucky finding the right fabric. At one point, I had to replace the headliner in my AMC Concord. I found the exact brick/rust-red, velour-type fabric at Hancock’s! It was pretty easy to do and looked great for quite a few more years before I traded the car.
Awesome scratching post, definitely says “New England”! BTW: I love the Woman’s attitude! It is indeed true that “good enough” is often better than perfect! Anyhow, looks like all is well concerning Iggy.
If Goldie had a show like Jack Webb’s Dragnet, we would probably see a photo of Iggy with an explanation that the youthful offender was reprimanded with a stern warning but no charges were filed unlike the real Dragnet where a lot of the individuals who crossed paths with Friday and Gannon often got extended vacations at San Quentin.
Puckmosis: Phil-Adelph says thank you for the nuts and berries. He had a nice breakfast before he went back to catch another 4000 winks.
Thomios: And Sue Chef told me he didn’t see his shadow. That means we need to do a dessert buffet of strawberries, whipped cream, and cake. Not to mention vanilla ice cream.
Iggy: How do we get ice cream in this climate?
Ta-Natash: We’ll never tell!
Puck: But I do have an idea how you did it. How was the the seminar at Punn State, by the way?
Violet-Ifa: It was great. We learned quite a bit. As much as we taught, actually.
Puck: I seem to remember one of the topics scheduled was transporting ice cream in hot weather.
Agnes-Ata: Yes. We might have done some research to see if those topics worked.
Puck: And I’m glad you did.
No, I have no idea how the Royal Procurers managed to transport ice cream from Punn State to the Palace. But I’m glad they did it, too.
Giant red lobster scratching posts must be a Northeastern thing. In the Southwest, would there be a cactus scratching post? In California, it would be a palm tree. In Missouri, it would be an outhouse scratching post.
If one could afford a lobster scratching post, I mean seriously have you seen the price of lobster these days? One should be able to send the couch out to be reupholstered. If for no other reason than Georgia will in all likelihood forget to include the patch on the couch in future depictions where the couch is in the room. Consistency is indeed important to cats, dogs and comic strips.
So glad The Woman has her priorities straight. The couch is a THING, and not as important as Iggy. Iggy is a PERSON. People are more important than things.
I was watching cat videos as one does before bedtime, and I saw a living room where the human had put a wide strip of carpet up the wall to the ceiling. The cat was running up then flipping backward onto the couch. Lupin would have wanted it to continue onto the ceiling.
OT: Georgia posted this request for advice “I am wondering… What are your best litter box tips and tricks? Five grown cats have migrated to using ONE BOX in my house, despite my best efforts to break it down to multiple boxes. Between that and the “more often than not closed windows” situation of winter, things have gotten a little intense odor-wise. I am going to be replacing Megabox (I know—end of an era; but it was developed specifically for Lupin’s own uniquely weird needs) with 2-3 smaller boxes in various areas. (I know the recommendation is one box per cat plus one, but I had a bad experience with that several years ago… In that it accidentally created some of Lupin’s uniquely weird needs when he decided “you know what? All boxes are litter boxes!” What has worked for you? Enclosed boxes? Open boxes? Litter cabinets? Robot litter boxes? (I’m tempted to try at least one robot litter box for the comic content alone! Can that be a tax write off if it’s related to work? I love the litter I use (Ökocat—not a sponsored post, I just have had really good luck with them and like to share!), but the box situation very much needs some adjusting! Hit me with your best tips, please! I need a refresh! Literally!”
This morning, Sunday, I re-read this one before moving on to the Sunday Funday, and I suddenly got the claws joke! Duhhhh. Now if I can just work in clause and Claus…

Lobster scratching post! I wonder if there is a real-life counterpart to it.

No! The terrible little cat needs to be punished! Make him go live with the Man.Not really a punishment, but it would get him out of the strip.
robinafox 10 months ago
I think I would have mended it with a black patch rather than one that almost matches. Maybe even cat shaped! That would really be more perfect.

The B-52s: Rock Lobster
It was 2 am now
Time for us cats to run now
Someone dug their claws in deep
It was a smol kitten,
It was a smol kitten.
…….
We were on the couch
Everyone had a quiet snooze
Somebody went under the couch
And then they climbed up the side
It was a young cat
Sharpening their claws
It was the Count Igula
It was the Count Igula!
…….
Just when all seemed lost
The Woman sewed a patch
It was better than perfect,
Since it was not quite a match
Iggy was relieved
He was not in too much trouble
Then The Woman brought out the scratching post!
Rock lobster!
Rock lobster!
Rock Lobster!
