I wonder if Pam Kragen knows she’s in the Luann comic? It’s a little odd that G+K wouldn’t just make up a fictional news reporter for the arc.

And Vale is back intruding into Luann’s interview. He’s the least needed new character in this strip.

Don’t inflate Luann already big ego anymore!!!

I say it is definitely a dream and one that is life-changing. Even if Luann doesn’t become a doctor, but does go into the medical field, her having a goal will make this strip more interesting.

Yep as I said it sure looks like this arc is heading for Luann to consider a medical career path. I see her as an EMT or a nurse. I’m not sure how to take Vale’s hooting in the background….love struck or…..?

Ugh, Vale is such an annoying character. First he stole Luann’s work, passed it off as his own, won an award for it, never credited her, and now he’s hogging her spotlight. PLEASE don’t make this idiot a recurring character.

Guess I’m visually oriented … the first thing I noticed was that blank slate on her shirt didn’t even make an attempt to conform to her contours.

Luann, I think you’ve found your true goal in life: To pursue a career in the field of physician care.

Too bad the US doesn’t accept degrees from caribbean med schools any longer (When I was in college if you couldn’t get into a US med school you went to the carib. There was a whole industry built around med schools for US students).

She has a fan club, albeit a very small fan club.

I’m starting to worry that now everyone will try pushing Luann to study medicine because she has the skills, while she has no intention of doing so. If she decides on her own and starts taking medical courses it’s fine, having everyone around pushing you to do something you don’t want to do no. It inevitably leads to frustrations or even depression and as a person with low self-esteem Luann is already inclined to depression. I’m glad to see that Vale has become Luann’s number one fan.

And there you have it Dr. Degroot. Baggy pants and all.

I just returned to Luanne to see if that lame branding arc was over. Glad to see it is and was replaced by a much more interesting one.

It has all been leading to this. We are at a watershed moment. What it leads to is open to interpretation. Luann’s blank slate will get quickly filled. It’s the “what with” that becomes the ride now. Does love come calling? Jack’s not been around for a while, and is going into veterinary studies. I see a potential for more connectivity, if Luann goes in a medical career direction. Who or what else may now enter the scene? We might be due for more backstory on Vale, who has been fawning over Luann’s heroics all week. His heart is in a seemingly good enough place to pique curiosity about his emotional depth. He may have a brother or friend we have yet to meet.

The Evans have created a launch pad. Lu is poised for the meteoric. Will she carpe the hell out of the diem, or will we be stuck with a week of Lu-Bern bedroom analysis of it all? Which of the other relationships will change, as part of the karmic re-balancing involved? This ties into my has-Kip-really-met-Luann question of months ago. I smell an honorary event for Luann with Kip possibly having a moment within it. He IS the starting QB, and such men are often spokesmen/MC’s in other scenarios.

The Evans have managed to engineer the blank slate. Someone’s life’s about to change. Who & how? If it’s more warm & fuzzy that’s needed, I’d start with a heart-to-heart between sisters-in-law about an EMT career path. Toni & Lu have something well beyond Brad to discuss. As a creative who understands the need to periodically reinvent, I can raise my glass in salute, and lick my lips in anticipation. Luann’s direction-defining moment is at-hand. I would only hope that she understands this moment completely, and chooses wisely.

Becoming a doctor is a long intense, (and, expensive,) journey, (especially with student loans.) Does our Luann have the drive to do it? (Do Frank and Nancy have the money?)

Well, she certainly has one big fan now.

WOW can Vale be any more annoying?? I thought at first he deserved some credit for trying to help Mrs. Horner, but he’s turned out to be a guy who uses every occasion possible to get public attention (even if it’s being a groupie and cheerleader for Luann). Hmmmm….now that would be an interesting development – Vale joining the cheer squad with Stefanie. She would get a big hunky guy who could toss her in the air and he could show off in public all he wanted.

The last time We saw a Moronic Spectacle like that was when Les crashed Bets & Gun’s podcast and pranced around in the background like a buffoon in costume.

I think she would make a great pediatrician since she is really good with kids and has had a lot of training. :-)

Luann a doctor? I’m not saying she isn’t capable but that is a lot of years of work.My boss’s daughter is going through medical school and she’s about to end her sixth year.

Luann has every right to be proud of herself. Most mature behavior I’ve seen in her in quite a while.

This is so dumb. She checked her pulse and called 911 and now people think she should be a doctor?? Pretty low standards.

The skills and temperament Luann demonstrated would serve her well in pretty much any field, not just the medical-related ones. Teaching comes to mind, of course, and we already know Luann is interested in an education career. Theater, as an audience member, actor, backstage professional. Leadership or supervision of a work team. I don’t see this arc as being an instant career choice moment as much as demonstrating to Luann that she already has useful skills, and there are plenty more where that came from.

Some posters are saying this is a dream sequence. I don’t think so, but it is one of my dreams that the Evanses will stop making Luann look like a nothing. So MY dream is coming true…

Greg and I had a humorous exchange about Pam dyeing her hair to save Greg and me any embarrassment. That’s enough heart-pounding excitement for one day. Perhaps there will be a five-week hair coloring arc starting with Frank :)
