Obviously, this is a spoof of Amazon. But that company is honest when it gives the date of delivery—especially on items made in China (like that shirt, maybe).
Does she think a shirt is being made just because she placed the order, and her order will go to a factory overseas, be printed, and shipped here just for her? The shirt was made a year ago, arrived by boat eight months ago, shipped to stores soon after arrival, was marked “new” until five months ago, and has been sitting in a clearance rack at a store in a mall two miles from where Luann lives.
What a deep philosophical question! Luann is factional, so she can’t think. But she lives in a universe postulated by the Evanses and in that universe she “thinks”, I think. That universe intersects the universe of the readers who think she can think, at least I think their comments lead to thinking she thinks, if I accept that they are thinking when they’re posting and/or reading, I think.
But, if as a fictional character she can’t “click”, then does thinking she thinks really matter? I think I just wasted a bunch of my time and probably yours. What do you think?
Print a copy of this comic and tape it to your computer on Amazon Prime Day. Told to The Count by a friend who bought a kitchen floor mat that was not needed last year. But was cheap. And free shipping.
Now that Luann has fully understood the polluting monstrosity of it all, she will be more careful about how and where she buys. Let’s hope this situation will lead her to limit, or even eliminate, the use of the bad site with the mocking smile in order to use other, less ruinous ones.
for being the namesake of this cartoon, they don’t really do much with her do they? Except making her shallow, vapid, no direction, no love life, no Thought process. Like she is the worse character in the whole strip.
The message here is aimed at all those who shop online because they are too lazy to go to the store, get out of the car, and walk. Their indolence puts unnecessary stress on those who work at the various stops along the supply chain. Not to mention the damage done to the environment. All this just because they simply must have some unneeded trinket and must have it now.
The demand for instant gratification without exerting any effort is taking its toll on everything.
I’m sorry, I can’t help it, I have to be sociopolitical,, especially now, on this subject. I HATE, HATE, the continued characterization of the name character as a stupid girl, oh how horrible she is! In (community) junior college too, and she seems to be so clueless of a young girl (not growing young woman) and still at home, while going to school (OMG, how lazy is the little {I won’t say it because of community rules, but wide awake commentors know what i mean}) b…..h. She ismeant to be funny, humorous, is the name character, is generational, she and Brad are the only characters who have two loving parents (Frank is a sweet, but head of family knucklehead, which as a dad of two successful grown children, to whom I can relate) not some stupid, hapless, useless young female. Please consider your female grandchildren when you so quickly and routinely characterize a funny female character lead as some stupid, non-thinking person. On the panel today, we need to be reminded of how all the elements (in which people work and get paid) work so we can enjoy one day delivery. Its amazing on so many levels Of course if the “thinker” happened to be either Bernice, or heavens no Bets, the misogyny would be even more apparent by some here.
Nah, comes from that Giant Amazon warehouse at the edge of town, otherwise next day is NOT available with or without prime. But I like the sentiment ! ;-)

Half of what I wear comes from thrift stores. Before you go “eww” most of it still has the tags on.

Oh COME On, Lu.
Think how much gasoline YOU personally saved by ordering on-line!
Besides. Any on-line entity that single-handedly got RID of most of the nation’s malls, can’t be all bad. ;-)
PS: I think Tiffany needs that “t-shirt……..,”

I never wear shirts with words on them. I don’t want people staring at my chest, or old men getting closer because they can’t read it.
