Way back, when Kip was staying at Tiffany’s house and took her out to dinner, he said Stef was a lot of fun, just not marriage material. Looks as if he’s not ready to break up…whichever way this goes, it’s going to be uncomfortable in the dorm room (next week?).

Everyone seems to agree that this is getting awkward, and Stef is about due for an entrance. Timing is everything, and Valentine’s Day is 15 days from now. The Evans are probably writing to a point in real time, here. My aforementioned unidirectional triangle is now a different polygon: Ox wants Tiff, who wants Kip, who isn’t over Stef, but likes the idea of Ox protecting his blind side on the football field. The transfer portal as deus ex machina is still in play as a quick out for Kip (and perhaps Ox as well). 15 days is a long enough time for these angles to be explored/revealed. We might have a Bets & Gun check-in, and possibly a Luann-meets-Kip moment. The quarterback could be the next Aaron Hill figure. Remember what I’ve been known to say about shows (and strips) wrapping things up with early-years fan service. This present moment of the strip sure feels an awful lot like the “Autumn of Breakups” episode of HIMYM.

Personally, I’m rooting for Lu and Kip having a moment. Kip has shown that he has a good heart. Stef is the one using sex to retain him, and that can wear off, after a while. Tiff’s self-esteem is looking for the boost that being with Kip would give her, but Luann is the quiet nice girl who just might steal him away inadvertently. Bernice is an x-factor, given her lustful proclivities. The two BFF’s entering the Fuse in the very near future is highly plausible. Everything shapes up like a set-piece battle in a bygone era.

…and it’s been a while since we heard from Brad & Toni about starting a family. Might a special reveal be the twist ending to this arc?
