Oh God, speaking of being careful what you wish for, because it might be this. I am completely disabused of the idea of Luann in love.

May this be the last time the KISS acronym is used as a punchline in this comic strip. Once or twice was fine, but after the 3rd and 4th time, I have begun to dread it.

Luann seems to have more experience – actions speak louder than words.

Oooooh, Luann, you sultry minx! What has Phil called forth to turn you into a siren like Tiffany?

So…the characters and the strip are normalizing calling people stupid. Seriously, there’s just something missing about this romance, if it is one. It’s hard to cheer for Luann landing a not-very-likeable fussbudget.

I wished my relationships were that simple in the pass. It would’ve saved me a lot if heartache and pain!

Actually, the correct phrase is “Keep it simple and stupid,” known as the “KISS” method. I learned that when I took some programming classes many moons ago.

Awww, what a sweet ending to this arc. But, I bet Tiff will have some choice (and snarky) words to say to Luann!

Luann sure is getting bold here…She learned plenty from Tiff growing up, I suppose.

Even cartoon characters can reach that “Point of no return”. Maybe it’s time for Luann and Phil.

Cuteness alert.

Luann is headed for matrimony.

I think we missed the last kiss in the would-have-been 4th frame.

Now we know Phil can drive, too. This guy gets more complex every day!

One could argue that Phil is a Master Manipulator. First date, he brings up kissing right away, for no real reason, in his rules. Then he tells Luann she needs to KISS — which throws her initially. Then reinforces it by spelling it out repeatedly throughout the date and the blood drive planning until she almost reflexively kisses him. Now she can’t get enough. Mission Accomplished!

Next scenario would be in Luann’s room with her relating the experience with Phil to Bernice. It would be very unusual for a Sunday episode, but would work this time.

Tiffany and Stefani?

I am thinking that after a 40 year run, that Greg and Karen want to slowly bring the strip to a graceful shutdown in a few years. Tie up most of the storylines and leave the major characters in a good place. Still plenty of narratives left, but I am guessing that they want to leave the strip and their legacy in a good place. It’s not quite like Estate Planning, but conceptually you want to the strip and their legacy to have a planned conclusion.

Phil is pushing hard for the infamous Third Date Rule…

Well, it does seem that the two not only are in a relationship but are good for each other. He’s given her some worthwhile thoughts, but she’s teaching him to be less analytical and more spontaneous, which makes for more enjoyment romantically.

I’m not really digging Phil. I don’t see the chemistry (as much as there can be between comic strip characters) and I don’t care for his personality so far. He’s just ‘meh.’ Luann has a goofiness and sense of humor, but at times, from what we’re shown, Phil comes off as a bit condescending. Ah, well, I guess we’ll see where this is going.

Actually, Quill was out of her league and was more mature than she was. He was an up-and-coming actor, and taking his career seriously. Luann didn’t like him taking time away to further his career. She was just the little girl who wanted him to be with her every minute.

But she seems to have matured a little. And in Phil, she seems to have found a guy who is more on her level. His career keeps him right there in town, and she’s happy for him to get his gloves on her anytime he wants! ➳ ♡♥♢♢

Lots and lots of kisses, I love these two stupid. I like this couple more and more, Luann may still be traumatized by how her relationship with Quill ended, but with Phil she seems to be getting better and better. I think it won’t be long before she can consider him her boyfriend.

Careful, Phil.

You’re overthinking this, and “folks” don’t like it when Guys over think things.

I’ve been longing for the cuteness of a relationship to come In Luann. I think this is a sweet way of them getting to know each other. Not everyone is a perfect match at the beginning. I do worry what drama can come because it’s not Luann without something going a little awry!

I like it. It’s a two-way relationship. Their insecurities and eccentricities seem to complement each other.

Phil is pretty open-faced for a fuss-budget.

Good. I like the way this relationship is developing. All of a sudden Luann is no longer the least interesting character in the strip. In fact, right now, she is the most interesting!

This was a great arc. Doubt if it continues next week. Unfortantly, Monday is probably either Shannon coming back or Teff and Steff—round three.

It seems Phil can occasionally sound like Lu.

More proof that Phil is an overthinker. All I can say is, he is behaving quite girlish. That’s what we do. The stereotype is that women overthink and men are simple. What say you?
