One has to enjoy the cut of the jib here. Luann has deserved what has come into her life for some time (arguably when she pushed Gunther out there on DatePic, leading him to Bets). It is a time to make wonderful new memories that could last a lifetime, even if PhiLu only lasts for a season (do not make me reiterate, just yet).

Gonna make another preliminary call, tho’. This one’s not gonna be about the end game, but about something likely to happen by 2027: Phil will deliver Lu’s niece/nephew. Brad & Toni have started having the family planning talks, and just had the “best Valentine’s Day ever.” It all fits a tidy Christmas story line for 2026. We’ve just had the artist invoke time, citing 40 years of teen/young adult angst from Luann & the gang. Any time an artist invokes time like that, there is an end game plan being set into motion.

So, welcome to 2 years of Phil. College and life will be pulling away at the main characters more and more. Grad school will be on the horizon for some, in 2 years. That might also include med school, or even a first residency for a young doctor. A nice girl from the ’burbs who is good with kids will figure out what she does with her life, over these coming 2 years. A young engineer could land his first big opportunity after loving, learning and eventually, losing. The paths to readiness are becoming defined.

Well Tiff, maybe Lu’s “success” stems from the fact that, Unlike YOU, she never goes after Somebody Else’s on again, off again “boyfriend.” ;-)

Older woman at work would always try to talk me into getting married, how great it is. One day two coworkers kissed in the hall. The older woman was disgusted at the act. I said, but they’re married to each other. She said that didn’t mean they should show affection in public!! HUH!?!?

Great! Phil is an adult, so he followed Luann to talk to her. Their relationship is off to a great start, Luann even manages to not care about what Tiffany will say around. Next up is to see what Luann’s friends think and then meet Phil’s family, which seems to be really interesting. Can’t wait!

Phil still has one hurdle to clear. What will Puddles think of him???
