I haven’t heard the “Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don’t upset us” jungle lately!

Lately the most annoying commercial is the car finance commercial – “make the deal your self”. If the mute button didn’t already exist, this would definitely inspire it!

Remember the annoying “Oh thank heaven for Seven-Eleven”? I swore, back in the late 60s that I’d NEVER shop there again. And I haven’t.

Can’t be as worse as the jingle for Liberty Mutual.

Any ad with a rap soundtrack

An idiotic ad for garbage ‘food’. BTW, whatever happened to the “GREAT” MEATLESS ‘hamburger’ that Burger King was promoting?

A catchy jingle is one of the most powerful tools in the advertising arsenal. One wonders why they are not used as much these days. I can still remember the tune and words to the “I love Bosco” ad and the tune to Picopay toothbrush, even though I haven’t heard them for some 60 years or so.

And for those of us in BC: “Dollar Forty-nine Day- Woodward’s” will bring back memories.

I still haven’t been able to shake “Head On. Apply directly to the forehead.”

It takes two hands to handle a whopper, the two fisted burger from Burger King! Is that the one? I hear that, and I’ve just got to have a couple of ’em!

Colonial Penn Life Insurance. “Nine ninety five a month.”

Fisher Investments. “If you have $500,000 or more, call us.”

They have caused my mute button to wear out….

I don’t watch much commercial TV, but I do listen to a morning radio news show.

1-877-KARS-4-KIDS!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhgh!!!!! I can’t reach for the radio fast enough to turn it off. It’s worse when I fall asleep and wake up to that infernal ear worm.

But he will miss the inauguration! Today is the end of one of the worst presidents in US history!

No “Big King” mascot staring in the window?

What about the Liberty Mutual jingle? I change the channel. I also have sworn to never purchase Liberty Mutual products.

I’ll never fall for that catchy jingle’s tricks. It’s much more cringey than the Charmin ads.

Try listening to Canon in D and then the old BK “Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce” jingle. Pretty similar.

I guess hold the pickle and hold the lettuce does upset… some of us.

There’s a Burger King jingle?

There was an old Sherlock Holmes movie wherein the villain placed a poisonous spider on his victims. The bite caused such pain that the victims threw themselves off rooftops.

I have to turn down the volume every time a Jardiance or KARS-4KIDS commercial comes on.

It isn’t as bad as others.

Commercials are the reason I only watch Netflix streaming and never listen to the radio.

I didn’t mind the original ‘Have it your way’ Burger King commercials from the ‘70 (Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce…’). What’s being referenced here are the new commercials that use this jingle only with different lyrics. Each one features a guy with an annoying voice singing about various Burger King products, with the lyrics sounding made up as he goes along.

Pastis is right: The jingle is sung so off-key, it’s awful. Then, when they say ‘you rule,’ it sounds like they’re calling Ja Rule!

And here I thought it was the ominous music before the latest Rachel Maddow episode.

I guess it’s a leap year.

A couple of years ago I was watching a Monday Night Football game when a player on the Buffalo Bills (Damar Hamlin) suddenly collapsed on the field. As it became apparent that he was experiencing a life threatening medical event, ESPN kept cutting away to commercials. Almost every time they did, the commercial would be that Burger King ad.

And Lume and Jones Road and Laura Geller and SPCA and St Jude and Shriners and Hims and Hers and Harrelson’s Own and fake viagra and every TLC and TBS promo and every ad that uses a classic rock song in an insulting way and……..

Either that, or he watched the inauguration.

t’s a shame, because he had just got the Jardiance jingle, paired with the visual of the plus-sized smiling dancing woman, out of his head after several weeks. . . . . (And now, you have the Jardiance jingle in your head.)

He saw tRump being sworn in today and couldn’t handle the thought of 4 years of tRump making everything about himself.

It is awful. Did the CEO’s nephew sing it or something like that?

That one’s the funniest to me. Gotta stretch out that one word as much as possible.

Any ad featuring idiots attempting to dance send me round the twist.

In the UK that counts for 95% of the ads!

Pick any recurring ad theme. Boring product placement.

I remember on the radio, they used to play a commercial for Sea Galley crab legs, which always drove me up the wall every time I heard it.

Just think of a short jingle to get the first out of your head.

Thank goodness for the mute button. Where ever I might roam tis a sanity saver.

Nothing is more annoying than the Kars For Kids jingle.

I thought it was about the inauguration.A sad day that looks to mark four years of chaos, destruction and corruption. I fear that unlike last time round there is less good people in positions able to limit the damages, so that and I think not even Trump see himself getting a third term it means far more unhinged moves.

So appropriate for Today in D.C. – for the other Burger King

Oh man, I’m glad I’m not the only one that hates that jingle. I can’t get to the mute button fast enough.

That one doesn’t bother me so much, but there have been other commercials that I’ve changed the channel to avoid.

I remember back when jingle singers could actually sing in tune.

With my current TV watching habits I don’t think I know any new Burger King jingles, and any that I’ve heard in the past have faded from memory.

I’m sure that I could find the current jingle on line, but we don’t have any cliffs around here. There is a river out back, but I don’t want to jump in it.

It’s all the cheery Meds jingles that are mute inducing for me.

Old and fully functioning DVR* owner here. I’ve time shifted nearly everything for at least 20 years. Fast forward thru the commercials. (*the dvr)

wow… since ceasing to watch broadcast TV, I haven’t heard a jingle in ages.
