It’s a hard knock life

When we got our 1st grade photos taken, the letter sent home to parents asked that the children look “natural”. My mother decided that I had “naturally” curly hair & gave me a perm. I looked like Zoe, only brown instead of red.

Mrs Six had a perm when l first met her nearly 40 years ago. That and the white musk hit me for SIX!

What’s hard about that question? She looks cute.

As the husband to one and father to two redheads who get the frizzes on occasion and have looked like that more than once my basic reply has always been, “I like it.” Unless she is not liking it, and then we go into “Frizzy Elimination Mode.” But I would never say anything cruel like “You look like a mess.” YMMV
