Physics hadn’t been invented yet, and the wings worked – as the story was originally told. The moral, in 700 BCE, was to recognize human limitations. Physics has been invented, so the story has been repurposed with a new moral for 2020, don’t blame the system when you’re an idiot.

Physics? Isn’t that a sciency thing? Republican physics sneer at gravity. They don’t like it, so it’s fake news and it doesn’t exist. They believe in the Wylie Coyote approach to gravity: just ignore it and one day like a miracle it will be gone.
