Now I don’t feel so quilty about thinking real estate and banking was boring. Bring on Natasha!

Incidentally, first time buyer in these parts means that you have never owned property at any time and in any country.

Puck, if someone were to loan you 3.5 kibbles and you and the gang already had 9. Then someone would give you thousands of kibbles. Well, something sort of like that, plus, every month you’d have to give lots of your kibbles back, more than you borrowed… zzz

It takes a brave writer to have her character comment that they think a story is boring. You don’t want to invite the reader to agree with them.

Elvis-Anum: I do like mushrooms on my pizza, but these Japanese Maitake and Enoke mushrooms are a whole new experience.

Itame-San: I was most pleased to create toppings using the anchovies we call Shirasu. Thank you, Salty and Fresh Water Cats.

Freshwater Cat: We were happy to have such a successful fishing run.

Shisho-San: I was pleased to find pizza making scrolls in the 641.82 section of the No Longer Hidden Library. Her Majesty, Queen Catshepsut the Golden has graciously allowed our delegation to borrow them.

Beatrixia: Obviously we have to give you an extended borrowing period.

The Queen: We will organize a trip to Japan in the near future.

Agreed, Lupin. I am genuinely happy they can buy the Big Pink House, but that excitement does not last through the financial talk. Let’s go over to Elvis who will hopefully have another report about pizza.

That is a smart plan. And since the group has nearly 9% they can either use the entire 9% as a downpayment (and have a smaller mortgage) or pay 3% down and use the remaining funds for any upgrades.

In the Woman’s defense, it’s hard to make financial matters interesting.

I usually make a note of the number of people following BCN on GoComics most days, at least when it has gone up. It does often go up some each day, usually not more than a few, but yesterday it went up over 40. I think we have some new followers here from the newspaper (or maybe it was newspapers) that dropped the strip.

The last frame explains why I didn’t go into banking.

Interest rates have doubled since January and climbing. They had better get a fixed rate NOW while they can.

Whoever posted here a couple of days ago besmirching the mathematical capability of women. I think maybe you should apologize.

I feel Georgia is setting us up. This and the next few strips will cause our eyes to glaze over. Just as we all give a collective snore – Wham!!!! The real story will begin. The real story will involve secret passages, mysterious rooms and ghosts – lots and lots of ghosts.

I know most who have replied think this is boring, but I think it’s cool to share this info! If even one reader is able to get one of these loans because they learned of them here, that is SO worth a bunch of people being bored. It’s super exciting for anyone who could become able to buy a house as a result – like it is for the Woman, Man, and friends.

This could be a good Scary/Horror for Halloween. Buying an older home, getting thru the mortgage process, and then actually taking on the expenses/upkeep of the property are NOT for the feint of heart. :) I am cheering them all on! Be Smart (weigh reason more than emotion in the decision making process – but consider both.)! Be Brave! Make the Leap!

This is why I never take financial advice from cats. Relationship advice is also a no.

I hate to say it, or even admit it, but money and banking are the root of civilization. No one has ever come up with a viable, realistic way to build an advanced civilization without it. So they are the foundation of all we are, and all we hope to be.

And as a retired material scientist, it is my firm opinion that foundations MUST be boringly stable. If not, the “walls come a-tumblin’ down.” (Was Joshua, perchance, a banker?)

I can’t say anything bad about bankers. My family are a family of bankers and my grandfather was a banker his whole life. He started as a teller and ended up as CEO. He was the person who gave Jimmie Dean his first loan to start his sausage company. If it weren’t for my grandfather being a banker I would be in very rough shape financially and wouldn’t have a house to live in.

Sounds like something alright.

I’m still interested in why winnifred Quin pointed out the door in the wall when it hasn’t seemed pertinent to buying the house -yet.

California is instituting a first-time buyers programs that will loan you the full down payment to qualified low-income applicant and provides forgiveness of that debt after several years. It’s worth looking into if you live in that State.
