Wow, first happy, smiling Elvis and now empathetic Elvis. Is it the apocalypse??

Don’t worry, Puck. Your whiskers are still there, they’re just harder to see with the more natural lighting.

We got an early shot of Elvis and an early shot of Puck, but no early shot of Lupin! I love early Lupin. In fairness, I love them all then and now.

Flashback time. And where’s the picture of Lupin?

I think Puck’s whiskers went the way of the Man’s “tail”. Maybe Puck’s whiskers will also grow back like the Man’s tail grew back? Wait! Now that Puck mentions it, just how has Lupin been “reading” Puck’s whiskers since they disappeared? And where have everyone else’s whiskers gone? <GASP!>

Ah yes. When Elvis became a bureaucat. Who can forgets that.

I’m sure Burt can answer all those technical questions.

Okay i’ve been bringing up the Bureau thing all week, but I didn’t think the STRIP would (Also props to georgia for using the early art too instead of going for the reprints). And my shipping for these two has offically gone from something I keep bringing up for my own amusment to “utterly adorable” as Elvis gets needing to hide under a bureau a while and the quite thank you elvis is quite sweet. I’m fully aware i’m just reading into this but it is adorable.. as is Puck being utterly confused as it’s been a while since we got classic “i’m a boy.” levels of confused puck. He raises a good point though.

Oh so much to love. Flashback to Elvis’s “forward my mail” comment (we fans nailed it)! Gentle Sophie crying with her tissue box – we feel you, sweetie! And yeah, where are your whiskers? You were a lighter shade of black then too. (I know, I know, the artist has explained how she developed Puck’s appearance).

Everyone needs to hide sometimes.

They’re still there dear Pucky, it’s just difficult to see them against the marvellous void of darkness that is your fur.

I love them all, but Elvis and Sophie are my favorites. This story arc makes me love them even more!

I love comparing Georgia’s current style to the old one! It reads me of when I was a big Garfield fan, collecting the books and seeing how the art style evolved over time, which was pretty neat. Meanwhile, I am very much not an artist; my sister got all the artistic talent, LOL.

Attention toebean fanatics…see Kliban’s Cats today. Then can anyone explain the red blob?

Ironically Elvis probably had the least changes from the early style

Wow, I’ve been reading this for only about three years, but I’ve read all the way back. The art is always beautiful and I love to see the throwback to before this was in syndication.

I wouldn’t worry about the whiskers, Puck. I’d be more worried about the fact that you now have gigantic eyeballs. Look at those BBs you used to have for eyes.

I had a similar reaction when I realized, after avoiding the mirror for ages, that parts of my eyebrows were seemingly gone (very lighter, thinner) and I said “WHO STOLE MY EYEBROWS?!”

At the beginning she took out a pink plastic like cat brush and put it in her mouth like a pacifier then leaned down and brushed a real cat, like a momma cat, grooming him/her !!!

Anyone have that kind of brush?
