This is great, we know a bit about Angus from his interactions with Baba Mouse and Jules back in the early ‘90s and how he got the “escapees” to come to the big pink house around Halloween. However, we know little of Lady Jane other than she was Freddies’ cat from the ’60s through the ’80s and was a bit older than Angus though they are obviously friends as they were in photos with “Baby Mouse” in the late ’80s and chatted in the recent arc which brought the foster kitties “home”. Really looking forward to this part of the arc! Thanks Georgia!
Will Mag-Lor provide plenty of appendices? In high school, a few geek friends and I would pass notes in English language but written in Tengwar script.
my Sara does the paw under the door while i’m in the bathroom.providing that moral support we all need while bathing, or just brushing your teeth. we all know how stressful that can be!
My first thought was how sweet of Tommy; my next thought was “Oh, my!” with the diary reveal. Didn’t see that one coming, Georgia and the people were too busy distracting us with hidden doors and rooms.
I cannot describe the noise I made when I saw that diary, other than it was joyful. More historic cat stories! I cannot wait! Also, again, Tommy is an amazing friend. But Cat News of the past!
I think it would be so cool to find a diary of a person that lived through a historical time and wrote about it. Ken Burn’s referenced quite a few in his documentary The Civil War.
Yesterday, as I was leaving the laundromat a few miles away, there was one of those big double propeller helicopters flying over, low and slow. Couldn’t see the markings but it was white and those are usually Forest Service around here. Then when I got home, a State Police helicopter was circling around my street for quite a while. Not unusual at all for them to pass over daily, but obviously this fellow was looking for something. So, I had a feeling of foreboding. Found out from the 6 p.m. news that a couple of inmates, one of whom is a double murderer, had escaped from the regional jail, a couple of miles from my house, and had stolen a car, apparently from someone who worked at the jail. So they had all kinds of agencies on the hunt, including Forestry Service and U S. Marshalls. What kind of idiot leaves their car unlocked at a jail?! And apparently a push button starter. Or the keys in the car! Anyway, the car was found this morning in Tennessee, a couple of counties away from here, so at least they’re out of the immediate area, although considered armed and dangerous. And where did they get the arms? Was the person who left their car unlocked also dumb enough to leave a weapon in it? I hope we get the details on that sometime soon. The U.S. Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for each of these guys. Partner has ordered me not to go looking…
And one nice thing — the diary will be legible. Lady Jane had beautiful pencatship, unlike my illegible scrawls. And she didn’t even have thumbs. Cats are definitely superior beings.
OOHHHH, that’s so sweet of Tommy! Last night Sebastian was sitting on my lap and looked at the monitor. He saw a picture of Vlad. And he reacted! He remembered!
I finished up the show, His Dark Materials, on HBO. Overall, an excellent adaptation of Philip Pullman’s trilogy of the same name. Marie and I got into a discussion about what our daemons would be. Daemons are the external physical manifestation of a person’s “inner-self” that takes the form of an animal. Marie said her’s would be a sloth. I believe mine would be an otter, perhaps a raccoon, because I like to use my hands to make things, and I think/hope I am creative.
What would your Daemon be? And you can’t all say cat; that is too easy unless you can adequately defend your choice.
I realize this is late in the day, so I may repost this question again tomorrow morning.

Elvis-Anum: So you’ve been writing your story down from the beginning?
Mag-Lor: Yes. I don’t know if anyone will ever read it, but I would like to share it.
Beatrixia: I would love to see it.
Mag-Lor: It’s in Tengwar script, not everyone can read it.
Elvis-Anum: I can. I learned Elvish during my travels in my youth.
Mag-Lor: You did the Dancing Corsair training?
Elvis-Anum: Yes. I learned many languages then.
Mag-Lor: Then would you like to transcribe the scrolls?
Elvis-Anum: Absolutely! You have a story that needs to be told!
Beatrixia: And that means you would need to return here when the scrolls have been completed.
Mag-Lor: Not a problem. I think I would enjoy some more Xanadu Honey and exquisite cheeses.
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Since the hour grows late, I propose you spend enjoy our evening entertainment and stay overnight.
Fe-Anaro: Thank you most kindly, Your Majesty. We will take our leave of you on the morrow.

Oh, why you look so sad?
Tears are in your eyes
Come on, lean on Tommy now
Don’t be ashamed to cry
Let him help you through
’Cause he knows what angst can do
When the night falls on you
You want a snack or two
Nothing you digest
Could make him love you less
He’ll stand by you
He’ll stand by you
Won’t let nobody hurt you
He so loves you
Take him in, into your darkest hour
And he’ll never desert you
He’ll comfort you
