I think Betts doesn’t want to hear any reasoning. Is this story leading up to an unplanned pregnancy where she and Gunther will be running next door for help and advice?
Tiff has spent years since introduced slowly growing up and how to relate to others. she is actually accelerating in that in the last few years. Never had any money sense, never was an issue before now. She has shown more growth than anyone else.
Yes, the point is that you are not winning anything, you are losing and Tiffany has become very intelligent, who understands everything better than you.
Bets’ unhappiness is caused by Bets’ insistence that she defy Mama. Bets’ unexplored conflict with her family may be this same oppositionalism. No one puts Bets in a corner but Bets and all that.
Using the information she has, Tiffany has a point here. But I’m sure that if Bets will open her heart to Tiffany by telling her how much Irma’s disrespectful behavior towards her it’s unfair and hurts her, Tiffany would understand her better. It would still be a bad situation about controlling Gunther and showing Irma she’s wrong. But let’s face it, Irma is really wrong! Something has to change in the way she controls her son’s life and it doesn’t seem right to me that Bets has to be the one stop fighting just because “Irma will never change”. I think more and more that Tiffany will be the one to find a way to improve the situation between the four involved.
Oh pipe down Bets…you practically created this situation. After all, there are house rules set up by the owners. Figure it out and GET OUT of Tiff’s face with your psycho-babble ☜ (↼_↼)
Tiff, Bets isn’t staying an Gunthers to show that she can do what she wants, she’s staying there, in part, to show she won’t be pushed around/told what to do (even with other people and their wishes/property) and in part because that’s her nature.
She’s a tornado, she arrives, stirs up chaos and destruction, then leaves and other people are stuck dealing with the aftermath.
Tiff really cares about Gunth so naturally she’ll protect him when he can’t necessarily protect himself. That’s what real friends do for each other. Bets still is carrying a lot of baggage from her past and it shows in being control crazy. This stems from a lack of trust which is based upon her past. All of which she needs to let go of to have the future she wants. That’s what real love would do. Saying and doing are two entirely different things and will not always agree with each other as a real sign of true intentions.
The point is, if you really wanna be with Gunther forever, you two need to leave his mother’s house and find a house of your own. That way, you don’t have to sneak in anymore and won’t have to deal with his smothering old lady.
Hawt Tiff is taking another page out of the Ann❤️Eiffel Playbook: Stiffing the Pot by Instilling Doubt. Pretty soon Bet will be taking lessons from Ann❤️Eiffel and be on her way to success just like Tif and hawt Stef. Can’t wait for screaming hawt Toni to dump Brad the Dork and realize her full potential. We do so ❤️ Ann❤️Eiffel. ❤️
Oh geez. Here we are – circling back to the ongoing theme of this comic – young people thinking they can do whatever they want with other people’s property and being disrespectful of property owners and the rules they establishish.
I am “Bet-ting” that this same sort of behavior (defiance of rules) that Bets is showing here….. is a mirror of her own relationship with her parents…. this is probably why Bets has been so against having Gunther or anyone else meet them or learn about her background. I am thinking she has created a similar dynamic in her family relationship. Tiffany’s words may spark some sort of recognition of this in Bets.
Hmm, Tiff being the counselor; isn’t that what Bernice is supposed to be doing? Hopefully Tiff is more successful with Bets than Bernice is with LuAnn.
She … doesn’t … see … the … point!! Little miss “It’s all about MEEEEEE” doesn’t … see … the … point. SMDH. Trying to one-up the home owner she’s sponging off is getting tedious is it? And what else has been going on this week? She’s “helping” to pack up Ts Teas. Maybe she’ll demand payment for working for the company? Take a few selfies with the product, put it on her web page and charge a promotional fee??? Let’s see what next week brings.
Tiff is rubbing at real sore spot on Bets, her desire to not be controlled by others e.g. Irma and Al. She doesn’t like it when people make rules that cramp her style. Tiff is very skillfully getting at this issue deep within Bets.
Wow, it’s almost as if Bets has been reading this strip for years and can remember when Tiff was as shallow as a saucer. Meanwhile, Bets question, “Is there a point here?” would make a great T ( for Tiffany) Shirt….oh BTW, HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Bets may not be happy with what Tiffany’s trying to say, but at least she’s attempting to help her understand the issue. If it were Bernice she was complaining to, all she’d receive are snide remarks about her intelligence and the occasional eye-roll.
When this arc is done, let’s get Tiff and Luann together for a talk. Tiff will make a much better friend to Luann at this point in their lives than Bernice.
Brooke McEldowney, I think I spelled it correctly, gets away with murder with her sexual innuendo and escapades. But she doesn’t allow comments, only “Likes”. Genius stroke. Wonder if Greg and Karen have ever considered not allowing comments?
Bets needs to get that website cranked up so she can buy her own house. Then she will be the property owner and get to make all the rules (heaven help anyone living there with her). LOL!
Tiffany clearly states the “point”, kor her reason for what she’s saying. She wants to be sure she “gets”, or has a clear understanding of, the situation. Bets just doesn’t like hearing the situation described so well, since it shows what a fool she is being.
Yeah, there’s a point. Instead of reflexive hostility, Bets, show Tiffany some confessional contrition and accept her help. It’s painfully obvious to one and all that your current situation is not going well, neither for you, nor for Gunther, nor for all and sundry connected to you, however remotely. Don’t be too proud to seek help.
Although Greg Evans is showing some of the consequences for Bets and Gunther shacking up, I don’t feel he’s showing enough consequences for a poor life decision. I don’t like the direction this strip is going in lately in regards to sexual content. Steff and Kip are going at it like dogs in heat. A lot of kids read the comics pages, and the strip’s main demographic is young adults, and I don’t think either of those two groups should be encouraged to commit fornication. It’s a bad life decision that leads to unwanted pregnancies, STD’s, and broken hearts. Greg should be more responsible.

Tiffany is making a lot of sense and has a point… Bets can’t do what she really wants to do.
With all her complaining, I don’t think she has very strong feelings for Gunther after all.
She is more with Gun for convenience and sewing skills and I’m sure she likes him a lot… but doesn’t love him.
.
So how come Tiff is smart about this stuff.. but attempted something as dumb as the Waremanse?? lol
