…OK, I get the pirate look, but all I’m seeing is Paddington Bear.

Well. this is entirely omnious and I worry for our heroes. Look sometimes I have deep character insight other times I see a mole who looks like wartime padditngon bear giving omonius signals to two other moles and worry for our entirely soft boy and capable but still tiny baby girl baby.

How could I have doubted that Georgia would find a way to paint a cute, very dignified mole! And that mole tunnel is more what I have seen from local moles.

How does he keep the hat on while digging tunnels?

It’s the mole emperor.

It’s a doubly good day when we see a pointy kitten tail and a floofy cat tail.

I met a mole on my back patio the other morning. He came right at me surprisingly quickly and I thought he was charging my feet, but it turned out I was just in his way as he trundled across the concrete from one hole to a hole on the far side of the concrete. I don’t think he even noticed I was there. He had the plushest, softest-looking coat! Their tunnels are very much in evidence but this is only the second time I’ve seen one.

The hat is a Statement.

Why is Mr Mole dressed like Napoleon? Never mind, I spy double BoCH! In fact, entire BoC! Squeee!

I’ve enjoyed reading the comments about the mole’s tri-corner hat. There have been comments on pirates, the American Revolution and the Napoleon Bonaparte. As a boy in 1970s Britain, I associated tri-corner hats with pirates, highwaymen, the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars and also the American Revolution. They are certainly representative of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

The moles are stealthy. They have to be.

The mole looks like a fancy dan…in the third panel, that looks like a badge or medallion on his hat, holding a feather. In the fourth panel, it looks like it could be his ear.

The hat looks like the French 3-point hat and the coat with exagerated cuffs, looks like a Captain’s Jacket.

Such intrepid reporters, the Johnny on the Spot, eagle eyed news hound of BCN. Apparently they missed the scent completely.

Love the mole’s hands. I occasionally find dead moles around my property, and it’s the hands that always amaze me. I know, paws, but they sure look like hands. I’m never sure why/how the mole died. I don’t put out poison.

Also, if you want to get their attention, mole, then why did you surface behind them? You kinda have your choice of holes to surface at here, after all.

Any guesses on this mole’s military rank? When you have a hat that fancy, I figure you’ve at least got to be a Brigadier General.

Okay, this mole is cute. (Congratulations, Georgia!) However, I thought “mole-thumpers” were used to get rid of moles.

I was all in for a pirate theme, but I like the other ideas, too.

If the Mole had a proper mole snout, He could be Cyrano de Berermole. And maybe Beatrix could be the love he’s afraid to approach as himself?
