Hmmm… Sounds like Kip knows he should find someone else, but doesn’t. He’s whipped.

I think physical appearance and athleticism are very important to Kip. If Tiff really wants to have a shot with him, she needs to eat healthier and get close to her cheerleader shape, again.

It really doesn’t sound like Kip loves Stef.

A codependent relationship is one where a person is dependent upon another person.

There is much more to this term than everyday clinginess. Codependent relationships are far more extreme than this. A person who is codependent will plan their entire life around pleasing the other person, or the enabler.

In its simplest terms, a codependent relationship is when one partner needs the other partner, who in turn, needs to be needed.

Kip, I was wrong, you are a coward and devious. You want to break up with Stef and you are using Tiffany to make it happen.

It’s hard to enjoy Tiffany stories because the authors are always kicking her down. A dinner with Kip would have been interesting but no, he also has to pick up Stef. I would think Tiffany would do anything to avoid spending time with the odious Stefini. To the extent that I could see her suddenly clutching her abdomen and crying out “cramps! On Golly, I must be starting my period. Gotta Go.” and dashing upstairs to hide in the bathroom until he’s gone. It’s always stuff like this. Back when Luann lead the strip she had her ups and downs but the Ups balanced down the Downs. Her depressions never lasted long. Tiffany’s strips are always depression.

Today the question turns to why does Kip like Stefini. Kip can’t think of one good thing to say about her except the unspoken matter of her sexual appetite.

Kip isn’t in self denial, but maybe his problem is that he doesn’t know how to end the relationship.

Got to wonder how Stef’s sending these texts if she’s still on the airplane. Maybe she’s being stood up by Kif? …. Here’s hoping.

She’s an EXPERT on getting RID of demanding girlfriends who spend too much time on the smartphone.

And be on the lookout for a cheap beat-up old van to expedite matters. ;-)

Poor Kip got whipped around Stef’s little finger.

Kip appeared to enjoy being with Tiffany and had a very good rapport with her when they were working on “T’s Teas” together. Then Stephanie returned and threw a monkeywrench in the whole thing.

Just as women can often tell if another woman is trouble, here’s a question for the male readers of this strip: How ‘bout it guys? Is there any of you who don’t see Kip as basically a self-centered jerk? Stef may be “high maintenance”, but she also revolves around Kip like a satellite — and provides “benefits”.

Funny that Tiffany doesn’t recognize herself in that description, at least her old self

Wouldn’t it be great if Stefani were to be permanently written out?

That “girlfriend” is a pain in the neck and whole body, I don’t know why he doesn’t see that!

I notice that many times right to Tiffany Kip will make cutting remarks bout Stef. Some times even when Stef is right there. Jus like today to Tiffany.

Would Tiffany be able to or want to keep up wit Kip an Stef’s privacy hut schedule like Kip’s used to?

You’re out of his league, Tiff. Kip doesn’t understand that and Greg doesn’t understand that either.

Kip doesn’t even seem to like Stef, at least not when she’s vertical. But he lets her control things. That’s a weak man. He and Stef deserve each other.

Please, Kip. There are more red flags waving there than in Tootle’s meadow. Do a 180, run away fast, and don’t stop running.

Hmmm, we lost Bets last week… could we maybe lose ANOTHER annoying character soon? Or if Kip & Stef stay together, does that open the door for more Tiffany/Gunther flirtations?

Kip doesn’t love Stef. She’s just a fun time while they’re in college and doesn’t want anything serious. Yet. He better not take his current situation for granted or he’ll lose a good woman, and I don’t mean Stef. (Then again, I’ve been coupling Tiff with Gunther for years, so…)

Well, if she says so and so many times it has to be true! Stef doesn’t seem to have changed at all, unfortunately. By the way after saying that it wasn’t a date, but a simple dinner to thank her, I expected Kip to take Tiffany to The Fuse, not to another restaurant that seems way more fancy and expensive. He loves Stef, but he’s clearly annoyed by the many unbearable sides of her. I think if Tiffany would want, she could easily convince him to leave Bets and be with her. But I’m afraid she will try to change Stef to make her less annoying, ending up making Stef hate her. I’m glad Tiffany is finally touching this subject with Kip.

If she ever says otherwise, then it will be different. I wonder if she’s bringing someone with her. Yes, I know, it’s just trustful of me. I’m ashamed of myself for even thinking it possible.

we’ve seen before kip is getting tired of steff. I’m wondering if tiff is going to be the friend he needs. she has grown enough to give good advice as a friend-remember she helped betts and gun, it would add to the tension if steff accuses tiff of stealing her b/f when she actually doesn’t get him.

Steph will go crazy when she sees that Tiffany is with Kip wearing a sexy dress. She will absolutely start a fight!

It sounds like the notion that Steff is controlling him, is starting to enter Kip’s brain. How long before it takes root?

If I didn’t know any better, I would have sworn that was Brad or an imaginary Brad’s/Luann brother in the first and third panel.

I think i wont buy this book , I will wait for the Movie to come out. it is cheaper that way .

WHAT IF…

Stef has put on weight (I doubt it, but suppose it could happen)?

Stef has a guy from back home on the side, and he is now coming to Mooney U? We may be about to meet him.

Stef has a younger sister who is an incoming freshman? We may be about to meet her.

Stef has not been keeping up with her regimen, and suffers an injury at cheerleading practice, or a mishap on the sideline? I see this as the avenue for the split from Kip, and the entry of Ox. She might even already be injured and in a cast, getting off the plane, for all we know.

Stef becomes a lab partner of Gunther in the coming semester?

Stef is not alone in needing a ride; Bets was on the plane, having left the van behind? If so, methinks that we see another week of Kip & Tiff at table, with lots of expository dialogue before showtime arrives.

Stef’s privacy hut time with Kip is now manifesting as a baby bump (as Maxwell Smart would say, “the old baby trap trick”)?

Not only have I covered every base, but the outfield, too. Things are about to take a very acute turn (as in acute angle).

Man, the red flags are flying all over the place on this one. Kip needs to decide if the sex is really worth it. I ran from a situation like this in my thirties and never looked back.

Something could have grown between them, even a better understanding of each other, if Tif would have stopped being so neurotic and went into the pool!

And you’ll be left with that neurotic personality when her looks start to go.

She says. He acts. I’d rather have someone who acts, not says.

I know this really isn’t important to the development of the story, but what are they eating? Anybody want to guess?

Kip is really starting to get on my nerves.

Kip is pulling the old “my wife doesn’t understand me” trick on Tiffany and she’s falling for it hook, line and sinker. It takes a real special kind of guy to put his girlfriend down while dining with a woman he knows she’s jealous of.

Knowing that she has no chance with Kip…WHY did Tiff even go to dinner with him? Is she that much of a sucker for punishment? Stef is and always be needy and bad news.

And so it begins…………

in the last panel, Kip’s dinner appears to be clams. not sure of Tiff’s.

Something tells me that Kip can do so much better than Stef.

I hope Kip has the good sense to dump the needy, mean Stef soon. If he keeps dating her, he will end up married to her and have a miserable life.

Wise up, Kip. Stef is high maintenance, and no high maintenance woman is worth it.

Kip is like a lot of people I know—not happy in his relationship but unwilling to change it or move on from it. So many people are so afraid of being alone they won’t let go of an unfulfilling relationship.

Kip opens up about his relationship with Steffie, inserts defensive remarks initially e.g. “but we love each other” but then realizes he has to qualify that one.

I think Kip is a decent guy who needs to grow up a little and realize he doesn’t have to impress people. Stef is the sort of girl he’s told he “should” be with, and he has yet to realize that that’s stupid.

A fight might break out when Stef sees that Kip has brought to the the airport to pick her up. Like a red flag to a bull!

Kip not helping the “dumb jock” stereotype by staying with Stef.

Why don’t Tiff just reach over a kiss him hard, that should help to make up his mind .

Stef has the attributes that one often sees on those “true crime” shows. She’s the type who would hack apart a boyfriend or perceived rival then stuff them in the freezer. What’s strange is this sort of mirrors the writer of “Karen”. Ann Eifel, Stef, and Shannon are all female characters with no redeeming virtues. Dirk, (who’s story arc is over a decade past) got married and reformed his character. Luann’s brother saw Bernice’ G.I. brother and bettered himself by becoming fit and getting married. The distasteful Les is a responsible worker and is a good pet owner. If the women get better, such as the long departed Delta, they are written from the script. Indeed, the script seems to work overtime to have females who are somewhat odious.

Tiff is more interesting than Luann. She grows and learns. She is a friend to many even though she has flaws and knows it.

Every five minutes is more believable.

That’s not love. It’s possession and paranoia, on Stef’s part- stupidity on his.

idk, isn’t that what love is? You know someone’s faults and you love them anyway? There is something sweet about this statement. That said, of course we all think Stef is a dork… tweep… etc. But Kip doesn’t. She floats his boat. For now anyway. Even with her annoying behaviors.

Sympathizing with and giving GF advice (while badmouthing the GF) to a guy you find attractive when you have an agenda of your own never ends well. It can’t; you’re already building a foundation on duplicity.

Then it must be so.

I suppose that last panel disproves those comments about Kip being in love with Stef.

It’s very odd to see Tiffany calling somebody else “needy”.

Am I the only one that likes Tiff’s new physique? I would love it if she were to get Kip or someone of equal enviable desire while she looks like this

To be fair, I knew a couple just like them in college. They’re still married 3 kids and 30 years later

I find it ironic how we are dealing with not one or two but THREE very shallow characters here. Kip doesn’t appear to be in love with Stef yet he’s physically attracted to her. He likes Tiffany but doesn’t appear to find her to be his physical type. Tiffany sloughs off the deep and true affections of Ox because she’s physically attracted to Kip and Stef is also physically attracted to Kip and all he represents as a school athlete. The physical drives them all and none of them are aware of anything else.
