I’m with Iggy. Turn down the sun! Reminds me of a song from my younger days by the Swans, and i’ll have to censor it a bit for good reason, ’G-D the sun". Probably a band our little Dark Prince would like too.
Driving yesterday the level of the sun made it very difficult to tell whether the stop light was red, green or amber. Just waited until someone honked.
I love everything about this, from panel 1 where Lupin’s expression sells it, to Puck’s famous sunglasses (though they were a bit easier to see back when Puck was more gray than black), to Elvis facing the wrong way. And when did Ora Zella start calling them papa?
For a while in the ‘90’s I tried the kind of glasses’ lenses that turn dark to become sunglasses. One winter Hubs and I went to visit the Arboretum for a Snowman Contest exhibit. It was brightly sunny and there was a lot of snow so the lenses turned the darkest they had ever been. They were so dark that when we walked back inside the main building, it was so dark I almost walked right into a wall. I had to take them off until they lightened back up, a very disconcerting not to mention disorienting feeling.
This has been a test of the Emergency Vampire Detections system. If there had been an actual vampire, they would have burst into flames. This was only a test.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Sunday.
You have to careful what you say to little ones. Pull the curtain closed does not mean pull the curtain down. Elvis, you should have been more specific!
Yesterday, I went to where my grandson and granddaughter-in-law and their children are staying right now. My great-grandson (almost 3), who is severely autistic, ignored me for almost the whole time; then, all of a sudden, while we adults were talking, he came up to me, grinned, and gave me the HUGEST HUG!!! My heart was so touched by this I wanted to cry happy tears, but I didn’t want to scare him. My heart is still full as I type this.

Thomios: That was wonderful! Thank you Elvis-Anum, Puckmosis, and Ora Zedd! Now to the concessions!_
I’ve always been photosensitive, to the point that bright yellow light used to give me severe, nausea-causing headaches, even with my narrow, squinty eyes. I saw in the dark almost as well as some nocturnal animals. The first time I tried to use a sodium vapor lamp-equipped microscope, it was instant pain and nausea. So I sympathize with the cats. Now, being old, it’s not so bad, and I can actually enjoy bright, sunny days.
I work in a country store and am usually assigned a two-hour register shift at the front register. For a few weeks twice a year, for a period of maybe 10 or 15 minutes before the sun goes behind the mountains, the sun streams in blindingly across my screen and anything shiny. And if someone exits through the exit door, hoo boy, I have to just shut my left eye tight and work with no depth perception! lol

Bonnie Tyler: Total Eclipse of the Heart
(Turn it down) Every now and then the snow’s a little too shiny and I don’t know where to turn around!
(Turn it down) Every now and then the walls are too reflective and I cannot take a nap!
(Turn it down) Every now and then Grumpy Papa is right and the curtains should be closed right now!
(Turn it down) Every now and then I just have to pull the curtains off and then Woman gets all upset!
(Turn it down, too bright) Every now then it falls apart!
And I don’t need all this light!
I don’t need the glare off the walls!
Everything is out of sight
Even my sunglasses don’t do a lot to help!
I hope I can find my way to the end of the line!
I don’t know what to do; I would like to have some dark!
Do I have to wait until tonight!
Once upon a time I could see all the room
Now I wish it would get a bit dark!
Nothing I can do,
Wish a total eclipse would start!
