I remember trying to burp the alphabet when I was younger.

NO ONE has worse table manners than a PATTERSON! (This is a running joke going from the first year of the comic strip. Yay!) By golly, Elizabeth is going to let those boys know that they are rank amateurs compared to her family. That said, I hope Elizabeth compensates them for any food she just spat over with all those drops flying off her head with her BRAAK.

Remember when people on AOL would post messages saying “Burp!” and “Beer burp!”…

God bless the Sunday strips of this site. A temporary respite from the oncoming tragedy.

I’m not opposed to taking a break from the current storyline, believe me, but how about something lighthearted and touching? This gross-out goofiness will give you whiplash after the week we’ve had.

Wow! What a nice sister! Just yesterday we seen that her little sister April is just seconds away from drowning, but Lizard Breath has to take time out to eat a fast food cheeseburger!

Liz is too busy acting like a pig while her sister is drowning in that river

… and Canadians like to sneer at us Americans as being crude, rude, uncouth, with no manners or scruples?

Obviously, this takes place between the April 3rd & April 12th strips and answers the question, “Where was Liz while April fell into the river?”.

I can’t tell if that expression from the guys is pure shock, or semi-religious awe.

Ah such a delicate flower Elizabeth be. The charm, the poise, the grace she possesses. The monumental volume she can achieve in a singular effort. A one and done prodigy if there ever was one.

Pigs, no one teaches you manners or what?

I was at a pub with co-workers long ago. There was an official belching contest (I’m serious!). Inebriated oilfield workers dominated the contestants with an occasional rancher hand or mechanic. Then a tiny little machinist we worked with, she was maybe 5’2" and 110 pounds, stepped up to the mic and blew all of the manly men away in both volume and duration! Was priceless!

What happened to the drowning kid?

The only time I could burp like that was when I was pregnant.

Elizabeth was letting them know who was the 44th President of the United States!

OK, Cue Tom Jones. “She’s A Lady.”

We Cub Scouts started a burping contest at the monthly pack meeting. The unburped air got diverted and it became a farting contest. Best meeting ever.

Oh, good. For a moment, I thought she was going to do something stupid, but that’s actually a really good way of handling it.

Thank you Mike for teaching your sister.

I remember doing that as an underage 18 year old in a bar, winning a pitcher of beer in a belching contest. Those men were stunned with my prize-winning entry.

Elizabeth is just like my sister. Loud and long when she burps, very close to a truck using engine brakes.

Sort of sounds like we all listened to George Carlin.

Liz might get a date out of this. Anything is better than Anthony.

She will definitely get some attention for herself from the boys with behavior like that.

Getting back to the main storyline:

John, Elly and April were going though the rapids.

Plunging them 1000 feet below.

It does take a special talent to do it right. My wife is finally getting the hang of it after a long time. If you hold it in, you will explode. If you don’t feel better after, you have to put it back in.

Apparently there are a whole lot of readers that don’t understand the basic fact that Sunday strips almost NEVER relate to the weekday arc.

Around here, it’s names of car makes. Buick sounds great, but Oldmobile is an accomplishment. Add 88 for the win.
