I refuse to admit how many bags of dirt (in various configurations of topsoil, compost, and mulch) I haul into the backyard on a regular basis. You can’t prove anything.

A cat’s olfactory sense can’t discern dirt from kibble? (raises a skeptical eyebrow)

As I recall, this really happened. In our home, Trouble has totally eaten through litter bags. Yuck!

Well my silly cat, Cassidy once chewed through a bag of cough drops, thinking they were his cat treats!(Bag was the same size and color of his treats!)

Cat logic never fails to amuse.

Gotta love today’s Tongue ’o Disgust and Ears ’o Betrayal.

This must be another Sunday rerun from when Georgia and the kids had the flu. But it is definitely a classic.

Notheeng surprising here cats. Them steenky hoomins is such dirty creatures. You is never knows what dirty treecks they is up to.

That is quite a dirty trick. Elvis and the kitchen both need a good scrub.

So this turned into a philosophical report on commerce. And a bath or two.

To be fair, humans are very good at making in-edibles look edible. Non-fat pastries come to mind — hyurrghh! And the recent development of plant based impossible meats are the absolute worst. I’m not a devoted carnivore, I’m more (for accuracy’s sake) a part-time vegetarian. But no matter how I’ve cooked synthetic meat products, they always leave an unpleasant aftertaste. I will gladly eat my weight in tofu every month, because I can make that tasty.

Dirt in the kitchen deserves ridicule

I love cat logic!

Look on the bright side. That dirt is easily swept up and transferred into plant pots. OTOH, if that had been a jumbo pak of Mega TP rolls, the whole kitchen would have been ankle deep in fluffy white paper shreds. Harrumph.

I love love love all of Georgia’s critters and it’s a real treat to have a Sunday strip that features the original good boys!

Has anyone here had dirt cupcakes? They’re chocolate cupcakes with frosting that’s been coated with crushed Oreo cookies. The gummy worm garnish is a MUST.

I always love BCN, but this one just tickled my funny bone for a long bout of laughing aloud. Still grinning over the hilarious betrayal!

In defense of dirt: As a very young child, I once ate an entire ant hill with no ill effects other than my mother’s hysteria.

The only good thing about dirt is the juicy worms hidden underneath.

Wait! They value chewing gum and electricity and not paper, water and dirt? I am not sure my kitty would agree with those choices.

All this talk of dirt, mud, mud pies etc reminds me of Drop Dead Fred. A true classic. Such a shame Rik Mayall left us way too soon. He was never anything but drop dead funny.

OT: Going Home Update

But serious, Woman, why on earth would you have a bag of potting soil on the kitchen counter? You have to know that the cats would need to investigate! They are, after all, investigative reporters!!!

This year for father’s day I gave my son-in-law a bag of rocks. According to my daughter, that’s what he wanted.

But in the comic’s world Elvis is a great reader of books so surely he would have been able to read what it says on the bag?
