Auntie Bernice should be happy that Shannon’s reading

Shannon, you were going so good until you put the gills on the dog.

Another week of Monstro and Puddles. With any luck this story will last forever, or at least all month.

Reminds me of one of Kipling’s Just So Stories.

Except her story doesn’t make any sense. If she gave the fish feet so it can walk on land it wouldn’t be able to breathe with gills and if she gave gills to puddles he wouldn’t be able to come back out of the water and breathe.

Powerful message here, from the mind of a child.

OK, starting off good. For the moment we’ll ignore how Fish will be able to breath free oxygen in the air instead of dissolved oxygen in the water.

Guys. You’re like Bernice. No imagination and being too analytical and literal. Shannon doesn’t know all that yet. She doesn’t know fish can’t breathe air or grow legs and that dogs can’t grow gills. All she is thinking that they want to be friends and play together. That’s all. Simple. You all want to complicate that with literal explanations why her imagination is unrealistic. What part of imagination don’t you get?

Kiddy-Komics. We’ve gone stupid. If the FBI is monitoring this, they’ll revoke my security clearance. No, it already expired. I got to lay low. Hey, Tiffany, you ready to take a shower?

Maybe Nil can help get her book published. And when it becomes a best-seller, Jonah will return—with his hand out!!

I am looking forward to this week’s Luann. This is such a cute story.

A good imagination can take her places. Good for Shannon.

My kids once argued about a cartoon called CatDog in all seriousness. Beings held together with a a long tube body, couldn’t poop so had to take turns barfing. I think same argument came up with Dr. Dolittle’s pushmepullyou animal. Fantasy/reality/silliness

Once upon a time, there were real, decent storylines…

But Shannon, it’s our differences that make the world such a beautiful place.

I love this! She has a great imagination, she should write children’s books!

What a nice thing! Shannon reads the story she wrote with Bernice to Luann, who must have finished her paper because she’s relaxed. Bernice seems to smile, maybe she ended up liking writing with Shannon? Or, maybe, she knows that once this is over, she’ll be free from her…? I hope she enjoyed being with Shannon. Perhaps her experience could inspire her studies, shifting them towards developmental psychology.

Shannon’s story is at least starting to be better than some of the stuff in today’s cartoons.

Art imitates Evolution.

I think Shannon has always been creative. But hyperactive as well. She is much calmer in this arc. To me, she seems to be showing Bernice how to play and have fun. I hope it continues in that direction.

(The Crazy part is, the Kid has an easier time with Creative Writing than adults do) ;-)

I smell a horror movie franchise in the offing.

I guess neither Bernice nor Shannon have ever seen The Amazing World of Gumball, in which a goldfish willed himself to grow lungs and legs in order to return to the family that mistakenly thought he’d died (said family consisting of a cat, a rabbit, their cat son and rabbit daughter).

So there is the new picture: two drab has-beens in the shadow of the new, bratty kid who has found favor in the eyes of the Evans’ team. Color it dull.

Bernice is now confused at the idea of changing for your friends, such a thing having never once occurred to her.

Shannon is actually bright to be a 6 year old.

Pretty good story for a little kid! Imaginative, well drawn,fun!

The fish won’t be able to breath oxygen, and the dog will die trying to breath oxygen with gills. Shannon leaves another wake of destruction in her path. That’s pretty on brand.

It took a very long time, some 90 million years.
